From start to finish an amazing time, we were welcomed and put immediately at ease with a tour of this incredible old house that have so much history and character. The food was not only plentiful but locally produced and cook to perfection. Would highly recommend this to anybody and we plan to bring our grandchildren back and hit some trails in the area.

One of the best gems in Wisconsin. What to stay in a house built in the 1800s? This is your go too. Amazing views, relaxing, peaceful. Have some wine at the on site winery. Bring home some amazing local meat. Walk to the dairy for your cheeses. Love going up here.

Such a cool experience staying in the old house. Was nearby visiting family and this was by far better than staying in a hotel. Virginia was great. Loved hearing the history of the old house and the restoration. Homemade bread and breakfast was amazing. Easy walk to the county dairy across the street for ice cream. Will definitely be back.

Smoland Inn is amazing, and we couldn’t have picked a better venue for our grandparent’s vow renewal.

The owners, Virginia and Shamus were kind, helpful, and very accommodating. Our rental included the grounds and the wine room. This allowed for guests to seat inside or outside and enjoy the space and relax. Our guests loved that they could purchase freshly baked breads and wine that was available on site.

If you are looking for a venue for your small wedding, vow renewal, or birthday give Virgina and Shamus a call, and they will be more than happy to show you this beautiful place.

Absolutely one of the coolest places I have ever stayed with my girlfriend. This wonderful farm is historically rich and very comforting to say the least. Virginia and Joe, the owners, are very welcoming sweet people that will make you feel like family upon staying at Smoland. If you want to get away from the busy society and leave the phone in your car, this is the place to visit. You will feel like you are back in time but still have modern day luxuries. We could not get enough of the house and the decor, you will have plenty to look at and read about! There is bread, wine , and meats offered here also! The bread I can say is delicious and classes are taught on how to make it. The breakfast was amazing we both agreed and the overall experience and service we received here was top notch. I don’t want to give too much away about this beautiful location, so I advise anyone looking for a one of a kind bed and breakfast to check this place out and be ready for a memorable experience.

We had such an amazing time!!! This was literally the best activity we could have ever done together. I loved it. The bread is delicious and the three course meal was delicious. It was intimate and fun and an experience to come back and do again in the future.

While I have not stayed over night at this Bed and breakfast, it offers so much more than just a place to sleep. My friends and I have enjoyed the bread making class, which includes a served dinner. We have had the wine tasting with appetizers-worth every penny!! And purchased their breads and meats. We keep going back! We love the hard working owners who make you feel like family. They often have time to tell you the history of the area or talk about their travels. The farm is a real, live, working farm that is well organized, neat, and clean. If you want the little ones to get a real country experience, this is the place to be. And their hours of operation are fantastic. Call first to make sure it hasn't changed, but last I checked, they are open 365 days 8am to 8pm. Wine tasting is usually on the weekends and seasonal, but again, call first, the owners are very flexible. And it is located directly across the street from Burnett Dairy-another must see in the area. Don't miss this one!

We entered the world of the historical farm house, so interesting and delightful. The breakfasts are simply amazing; Virginia's homemade breads were yummy. We enjoyed a breakfast conversation with another group traveling to this place to visit with relatives. The owners, Virginia and Joe, made us feel so welcome and comfortable. The farm was absolutely lovely in mid-October, trees still have colors. If you come to this area don't miss Crex Meadows (just before and at dawn is our favorite), the Burnett Dairy, or Brickfield Brewing. We also took a short drive to Taylor Falls, MN to see the Potholes at Interstate State Park. All in all a perfect weekend.
