I can't begin to say enough about this place. booked our stay almost a month in advance and even though Josh was busy he made time for me and my son for his 13th birthday, even talking to me a few weeks/days prior to touch base about us making the trip up. we spent some time Friday evening and a little Saturday evening, after he a super busy day. Gorgeous surroundings and facilities, and I'd be willing to bet there isn't a trout question Josh doesn't know. He's a wealth of knowledge, and knows the surrounding area extremely well. Super friendly and encouraging guy. Most importantly a good Christian man also. he went out of his way to make our 6hr drive worth it. we was able to catch our 1st golden trout ever also thanks to him ! Such a peaceful atmosphere in the area. if your looking to get away from the hussel and bussel of ususal/everyday life, you will not be disappointed, I can promise you that. And you won't need your cell phone other than picture taking because there's no cell service, awesome ha! truly a great getaway.

We’ve been staying in the Sweetheart Cabins at Smoke Hole for our anniversary for the past 5 years. There’s a reason we keep coming back. The cabins are always cozy, clean, stocked with everything you need and decorated nicely! The gift shop is beautiful and everyone who works there is always so friendly. Can’t wait to come back next March!

Smoke hole caverns was a neat tourist spot. I really like the history but the tour was a little short. The guide was pleasant and well informed. The gift shop was definitely well stocked.

I've been meeting My son there for trout fishing for four years now.
The campground is nice, right on the river. Prices are good, hookups are easy to get to.
Very nice place 👌.

We took the cavern tour and it was very interesting. The tour guides were exchange students and very nice. We had a good time, definitely worth a visit! Lots of cool things in the gift shop, some things were overpriced as those types of shops tend to be. Still got a nice sweater for $36

Went for cavern tour and it was cool as usual. Seems like there is less lighting and shorter tour than a decade ago. Couldn't help but notice how overpriced the gift shop is though. $90 for cheap hoodies, $15 for WV wildlife calendar that I paid $12 at outdoor store in Franklin 🙄, $6 candy bars, etc. Not much in area so kind of is what it is.

EDIT for snarky owner: The candy bar I got did not have huckleberries. It was a plain chocolate bar that had a bear on it and said something about Grumpy. It had no indication about where it was made, and tasted as such.

There were WV hoodies that were marked 90 bucks.

Maybe you should lower prices of calendars too? Or the 44.99 I paid for a cheap toy we saw at Tractor Supply for 24.99 lol. I paid 9.99 for piece of pyrite lol.

Glad Trumps in office? LOL see how much them chinese hoodies are when tariffs go into effect.

Like i said buddy, it is what it is. Tourist trap

What a fantastic place to call home for a few days, the rooms are beautiful as is the gift shop. Cavern tour was well worth the fee and our guide was awesome. Was nice to learn we had access to the pool up the road a couple minutes, made the heat wave more bearable. Would highly recommend and will likely come again
