Used the service in September from Skagway - Juneau - Haines.
The inside terminal staff at the first 2 locations were very friendly, informative and helpful (didn't go inside at Haines).
The ferry staff were also great at their jobs and friendly. However - I'm sad to say that the parking/ ticket collectors and parking on the ferry staff (probably not the correct term - sorry) were rude and condescending at best. Unnecessarily rude, it was as if everyone else except them was stupid (bloody tourists) attitude.
Maybe they should focus on their jobs instead of harassing paying customers. At Skagway, we drove onto the ferry, one guy was pointing to the rear of the ship at the same time a lady was beckoning us towards her - confusing or what! I then understood that they wanted me to turn around further down the ship and head towards the lady (now I know - simple). But as I drove down the ship to turn around (I know my turning circle and how to drive) another chap was waving his arms and shaking his head. Seriously people - just show me where you want me - I can work the rest out. Also bear in mind, the ferry was not even going to be half full and we were way ahead of schedule (this is not an F1 pit stop). I am from BC and use ferry's all year long, I have also extensively used ferry's in Norway and New Zealand with my cars. These people need to chill out ffs.
I know this will fall on deaf ears but if you are going to use this ferry system - be prepared (don't let it ruin your experience - it's not you, it's them)!

Took the 8 hr train tour. It was totally worth the $. If you like train rides and beautiful scenery, this should be on your bucket list. We got to eat some amazing BBQ chicken, play with some beautiful baby sled dogs, and an awesome bus ride back (Pam was an excellent guide and driver).

It was easy to disembark, but getting back on was a trick. From in town be sure to get the right shuttle.

We had to wait quite a bit for the Radiance shuttle to show up.

So plan accordingly, when you are tying to get back to your ship

The terminal is good, plenty of parking for the tour buses, they have small cabin lie structure wheee you can wait for hair tour or there is a bus that charge you 3 dollars to take to to town one way or 5 for the whole day, the distance to town is about 15 mins walking at normal pace. There is no bathroom and no WiFi. There is a nice view from the terminal.

Skagway harbour encompasses the raw beauty of Alaska and is the starting point to catch the White Pass train.
There has been a lot of development in the recent past with many additions to quite a historic little town
