No rooms to speak of, this is not a resort, it's an RV park. Bring your own rig if you need a place to stay, or bring a tent and post up in the grass. Whichever way you choose it'll be a worthwhile experience just for the view of the sunrise with your coffee and the sunset while you sup. It's a beautiful place.

John is one of the friendliest guys ever, and will work with you on your arrival and departure dates. Rent is fair, given there's access to hot showers and restrooms on site. It's quiet when there's no club activity, even when the ranges are hot it's not too bad.

There's no play area for kids, it is a shooting range after all, but there is a small grassy area where the tent campers go and people park their boats. There's not much room at any given time for any new rigs, if you're lucky there will be one space open for a medium size setup.

Salmon fishing is decent in late season, just a 10 minute walk up the road at Old Sitka. Deer and bear are prevalent as well as it's about 7 miles from town. Eagles and ravens are all over, and if you're lucky you'll see a sea lion or a whale just off shore. There's plenty of crabs, starfish, otters and other sea life to check out at the creek outlet that borders the property.

Surrounded by hemlock and Sitka Spruce, deer hearts enough to have a fresh salad daily, and the peace you need without sacrificing basic amenities like flushing toilets and hot water, this is a great place to camp or plan an extended stay. You'll need a vehicle to get to town at your leisure, but the city bus does pick up not too far from the park. It's not the easiest place to be, but there are far worse.

Summer is the best time of course, but winter is also very nice. Just bring cleats so you can get across the parking lot, and tire chains to get out of the driveway.

If your ferry arrives in the middle of the night, you won't find a campground more convenient than this one, especially with hookups and hot showers. It is the first driveway to the right after you exit the ferry terminal – right "next door." It's best to have reservations so that they give you the codes to get into the restroom, if you need that, and the fees are pretty reasonable. The place is somewhat secluded, with a beautiful view out over the narrows, and you can easily see the ferry coming and going from your campsite. The Fast Ferry's approach is something to see. Nearby you will find the Starrvigan Recreation Area, at the end of of the road. It's a great place for wildlife and such. Down the other way, it's a few miles to visit Sitka proper but it isn't like you could get lost! 🙂 There are at least two other campgrounds on the island, I believe, one a bit more deluxe and closer to town, and one more primitive near Starrvigan. I would hate to try to find either of them in the sleepy darkness. The facilities were pretty good and the campground hostess was very helpful when we needed to attend to some urgent business, after checking our e-mail over the Wi-Fi network at the campground.

It’s a good RV Park but not extra amenities. If the campground at Starrigavan is full,this is good back up. It is just a grass area with fire pit and picnic tables but it works. The local bus service comes out this way. It’s about 200’ from the ferry so even if you are coming in late at night it would be a quick fix. Just know that no caretaker actually lives on site. But they will stop by during the day and you can pay them later. Just mention it to one of the RV residents that are long term. They will pass the word on to caretaker. It’s relaxed system. But it would not be a place if you want to party into the night.

Small park with full hookups and wifi. I'm in a smaller site near the building and the wifi signal is great. The city of Sitka offers free wifi but you won't get it at the other RV park. You will, however, get a Directv signal, which you won't get at Sportsman's RV Park.||||The city Management could not be nicer and are only a phone call away. Be aware of bears, as they frequent the trash cans. ||||My stay was $37/night in June 2017

This is a nice private campground located next to the Sitka ferry terminal. They have sites with hookups for RVers and level grassy sites for tent campers. Bathrooms and showers are clean and well maintained.

We stayed one night during our week long stay in Sitka. We went for the showers. They were not clean. It seemed to be mainly a place for the shooting range. The shooting stopped at dark, so it was OK. Not much of a view of the ocean.

One of the best places to stay in your RV, all the anemities laundry, wifi, full bathrooms, plus you can join the association and shoot your handgun indoors.
