Great library! Has weekly story books on a hiking trail, great for kids. They have a kids room that is great for babies up to older kids, has a lot of stuff for littles to play with. They also have a lot of different activities going on throughout the year on their online calender! Reading days, movie nights, lego nights, so many options!

We did a nice walk around the trail, not too long but perfect on a hot and humid Fathers Day!

Just had the most wonderful stop at the Sherman and Ruth Weiss community library here in Hayward, Wisconsin. Ann and Agnes were super, super helpful and very tech savvy and took their time to help me get some small business tasks completed.

Nice facility - particularly the children's room. The number of computer terminals seemed adequate. My initial impression was that the fiction collection was a bit sparse only to discover that they prune titles that have not been accessed for several years.

I expected to see The New York Times but didn't see one. They are taking steps to see whether it would make sense economically to subscribe.

I love our community library. Plenty of up-to-date resources and a comfortable vibe. The staff offer a lot of games and activities, some with prizes (once I won a sweet Birkie pint glass!). If I need something that I can't find online or in person, the staff help me order it from farther away. Everyone is friendly and helpful. Love the trail around the lake too - for people with young kids, the reading trail is so clever!

I am not going to say I love a library, so I graded four stars, one for the foundational architectural building, two for the availability of a public communications internet network, three for the friendly librarian service work, four for the accomplishments I have lived while socializing within the Sherman & Ruth Weiss Community Library.
Thank you librarians for enabling me to work and heal my attention deficit consciousness.

There is one particular male librarian who was extremely rude while I was visiting with my children. I don't know his name, but he has worked there a long time. He has a white beard. I have caught him several times giving me condescending looks as if he think's he is better than the library patrons. We are always very quite, and respectful to other's using the library. The library staff would do well do adhere to this policy as they are constantly talking very loudly without any regard for people studying, or reading. Anyway, in one particular instance, the librarian I referenced earlier came into the children's room where I was chauffeuring my children around as they have never been there before. They were very excited to see all of the different things in the room. So while we were in there, the librarian came in the room purposely milling around us nearby as if to pressure us to leave as closing time was near. It was 10 minutes to closing at this time. He then makes the comment that it's pretty much time to go home now, to my kids. I looked at the time and thought it was rude, and disregarded him. As I walked around showing my excited children the different things in there he stayed in the room pretending to organize things. At six minutes too, he then says ok guys lets pack it up now it's time to go. I was shocked, angry, and stupefied. I told him that it was still 6 minutes to, and he says well we like to get out of here on time. I stated that I thought it was a public library, and that apparently the library staff doesn't follow the posted hours of operation. I told my kids that it was time to leave because we were being kicked out early. I was absolutely astonished that this employee lacked the professionalism or common courtesy that should be shown to other human beings. I plan on speaking to the library manager the next time I visit there. The library is a beautiful building, it's a shame that a member of it's staff is such a poor example of how to properly interact with the public. The experience that we had on this one particular occasion will always stain the memory of this library for myself and my children.
