As an event planner, I’ve worked with countless venues — and I can confidently say that Shade Hotel Manhattan Beach is one of the best! The entire team was nothing short of incredible.

Mimi, Alisha, Emma, and the whole Shade team were true partners every step of the way. Their attention to detail, flexibility, professionalism, and genuine care for the success of our event made the entire planning process seamless and enjoyable. Our guests got major VIP treatment. It was a dream! It’s rare to find a venue where the staff feels just as invested in your event as you are, but that’s exactly what we got at Shade.

The space itself is beautiful, and perfectly located, but it’s the people who make it shine. I can’t wait to plan many more events here — Shade has officially become one of my favorite venues to work with!

Highly recommend to anyone looking for a top-notch event experience.

This was my third stay at this hotel. If you want to be in Manhattan Beach, the location can't be beat. I love the rooms - beds are super comfortable! But, for the price, there is a lot lacking. The last two times I've stayed my room was on the first floor with a slider opening to the courtyard. Because of this, I couldn't get any daylight in because of the extreme lack of privacy. In addition, the hotel is LOUD. My room was near the restaurant and it was super noisy. In addition, I constantly heard doors slamming all throughout the night. On Sunday morning at 7 am, there was vacuuming going on right outside of my room.

My wife and I had a great time staying at Shade in Manhattan Beach for Valentines Day. The room was beautifully designed with customizable lighting, large bathroom and soft bed. We liked the restaurant and bar downstairs and nice scenery around the hotel. It's expensive stay but highly worth it. We look forward to staying at Shade again!

We just spent an amazing 3 days at this perfect hotel. The rooms were lovely & clean. The bed/pillows extremely comfortable, the staff were outstanding and the location could not be more perfect. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and the beach. We would highly recommend The Shade Hotel, Manhattan Beach.

The location is amazing, walkable distance to the beach and multiple shops. The food was absolutely incredible and service outstanding!! Outdoor seating had heaters so that our whole family could enjoy the evening and feast on the diverse menu available.

Very comfortable beds and bedding, delicious food! The bar and refrigerator were fully stocked. ||The closers were very small and made it hard to hang formal wear.||A ring was lost in room #216 and never found or turned in. The staff didn’t seem too helpful.
