When our family travel plans got put on hold due to COVID a family member found accommodation here. I was a bit nervous as I feel like I am imposing staying at someones home even if they are close family. Boy was I surprised at this gem. Lynne has become like family and we now come up every year. We spend a lot of time during the day out exploring, tubing, paddleboarding and such but we come in back at dinnertime have dinner and play games until late in the night. Breakfast is always amazing and sitting on the porch is a great way to wake up, or wind down! The animals are well oved and cared for and love hanging out in the barn with the horses and 4H kids their caring for them.

If you're looking for a brand new, fancy B & B, this is not the place for you. Rural setting, old farmhouse that feels comfy and safe, country breakfast, comfy accommodations, abundant nature, a walking trail nearby, and a personable host make this a very peaceful, charming place to unwind. We will be back!

My friend & I stayed here this weekend. It was a great experience, & so peaceful! Lynne is so sweet & accommodating. She makes a wonderful breakfast. Her son Brent & his sons were around & were kind enough to make dinner, & shared with us. It was relaxing to sit on the porch, enjoy the view, listen to the many horses running around, (this not only is a bed & breakfast, but also is the site for the Veteran's Equine Trail Services, a non profit organization that uses rescue horses to help Veterans with PTSD, anxiety, depression, domestic abuse, along with special needs adults & children.), along with other wildlife. The house is big, with central air, each of our rooms had individual ac units along with ceiling fans, so it was very comfortable during this humid weather. Overall, it was worth it completely to stay here. We can't wait to go back!!! Thank you again Lynne, Brent & sons for a great weekend!!!

Great getaway for city folk! Huge "great room" for hanging out (with fireplace, but it was over 90 degrees so we didn't need any more heat!), wraparound porch with lovely views of fields, horses, maybe deer, birds (we saw hummingbirds, orioles, woodpeckers). We stayed in the suite with private bath, but the other rooms looked nice too -- they are very inexpensive as they share baths (there are a couple of baths that can be used, so no worries). Hearty breakfast buffet was scrambled eggs, sausage patties, pancakes, doughnuts, fruit, juice, coffee. Innkeeper Lynne is very nice. She has garden helpers (a retired couple) over the summer, and they too are very nice (and help keep the grounds looking like paradise). You can ride your bike on the 400 trail right from the farm (the trail crosses the entry road to the farm). The dogs/cats are outdoor animals, and don't come in the house.

Lynn the owner is very warm and welcoming. Relax in nature . Very quiet . Bike trails and path to Carr Valley Cheese very scenic.
The horses at September farms make the experience exhillerating and Barbara the horsekeeper is very educative and patient when showing the horses. The little filly Yogi just a month old running around with her Mom Boo is precious and Patches the big St Bernard dog is friendly once he gets comfortable. The cats are trustworthy and come to snuggle up looking for warmth and attention. A welcome package for country lovers who like to take in the calm fresh air . Plenty of books to read as well. So sit back and unwind from the hectic city life and enjoy this beautiful place.

I wish I could buy this place and call it home! Just driving in the driveway starts to relax every tight shoulder and neck muscle I have. The scenery of the hills, the river, the barns, the big house is so relaxing, quiet, beautiful, especially with all the beautiful horses in the pasture, the cats, the dog, the rabbits and the chickens, it really is a nice country place to stay. Every time I stay there I meet people from all cities that come to get out of the city, to relax and enjoy the serenity it provides. Lynne is personable, and is a wonderful host and keeps a beautiful home spacious for everyone to relax and have their own space.

I arrived with no reservation on a Sunday afternoon after a very busy weekend checkout. The owner was accommodating but, no rooms were ready. NO PROBLEM, as I was hungry and wanted to go eat. An hour and a half later, I settled into what seemed like my own room at grandma's house. Not super fancy, but very comfortable, as a farm house should be. I set up my tent on the big ol' front lawn to air out on a beautiful, dry summer evening. Then, I checked out the horses, 52, mostly rescued or surrendered Morgans. That evening, number 53 was born (foaled?), a colt named Chase. The next day I ate extra eggs from the coop before pedalling off once more on The "400" state trail, which is accessed directly from the driveway: A bicyclists dream. And bikers, slow down and be respectful of the horses along the trail there! This farm does great work with disabled vets and kids. The BnB does great work with people...friendly and down-to-earth! RECOMMEND HIGHLY!

What an escape from reality! The house is huge, impeccably clean, and very comfortable, as are the rooms. The bucolic property is nestled in the driftless region. Veterans Equine Trail Service, a nonprofit that provides outreach for veterans, rents property, so over 50 gorgeous Morgan horses live there as well. Porch and barn cats and a very friendly dog named Bailey live at September Farms, as well as chickens and rabbits. The house is surrounded by apple trees, grape arbors, a vegetable garden, and flowers. The wraparound porch is ideal for relaxing and talking with friends and family. It's quiet and peaceful here, and you will enjoy one of the best sleeps you've ever had. Breakfast is tasty: eggs, sausage, pancakes, fruit, juice, coffee in abundance. All in all, a wonderful experience!
