The decor, furniture and fixtures are very dated. The carpet had burn marks in it and the cooking utensils were cheap plastic. Instead of replacing a missing outdoor grill they put a cinderblock on top of the post where the grill should have been. The internet is fast and TV options are great but there's absolutely nothing for kids to do. The water has a strong sulfur smell and the unit did not have a vacuum. Check-in was easily done over the phone and we were given a door code for access because we arrived after the office closed. We actually never spoke to or saw anyone from the "resort" outside of the check-in via phone. Also, calling two buildings with zero amenities on grounds a "resort" is nothing short of a lie. It's a nice place for couples to relax but not recommended for kids. It was nice that I could take our dogs as well ($100 per pet deposit) The beds were comfortable but the comforters were outdated motel type and probably haven't been washed in a while because check-out instructions told us to leave them on the bed but to put sheets in a pile by the door. Overall, a decent experience for the price but we probably won't be back due to lack of things for our kids to do.

I was impressed with the improvements that had been made to the property. There is no longer a need to bring water as they have put in new water systems. Also there has been cable towers installed so that we now have cell phone service and WIFI. Loving that! Better cable on the telly too! All in all a great improvement. Many things upgraded like flat screen tv, new toilets and bath fixtures, etc. Yes, 5 stars from me.

After reading many of the horror reviews on here, we prepared for the worst. We brought plenty of bottled water because supposedly the water was terribly suspect. We brought plenty of board games and puzzles because supposedly there is no wifi or phone signal and only a tube TV. We brought, essentially, very low expectations.||||We were very pleasantly surprised!||||The place was nice. There was, indeed, wifi. Our unit had two flat-screen TVs. (My dad also stayed here in a different unit and had one tube and one flat-screen.) Yes, phone signal is terrible here. You're in the country. The water was fine; almost from the start I was drinking the clear tap water.||||The furniture was comfortable, and having a murphy bed in the living room helped us make it work for a family of five. The kitchen was complete, with a regular coffee pot and a stovetop hot water kettle for our drinks. The washer and dryer were very nice to have. The bathroom attached to the loft bedroom had a sauna as well as a tub jacuzzi.||||The location is okay. Very nearby you have putt-putt, an ice cream shack, the Burn Barrel bar/restaurant with pool tables and darts on the lower level. Bryce Canyon ski resort is also just 10 minutes away, and we enjoyed taking the lift to the top and playing disc golf on the way down (lift=$8, disc golf=$4 including loaner discs). Near Bryce Canyon is a little library with a used book shop inside, which we enjoyed more than once. The lake and lake trail, also nearby, are free to visit - you pay if you want to swim or boat. A big convenience store is also nearby for the essentials.||||Mount Jackson, about 20 minutes away, has the Route 11 chip factory, as well as a Food Lion. Other places we enjoyed were New Market (flea market, ice cream shack, general store and coffee shop) and Woodstock (fire/observation tower).||||Yes, we would stay here again!

The place was clean and spacious, and everything was in good working order. The bedding was good quality with beautiful views of the woods. We really enjoyed the wood stove and the sauna. The decor is dated but overall was in good shape. We didn't care that there was an old TV from the nineties because we weren't there to watch TV. The nearest grocery store is twelve miles away down a very winding road so I would recommend doing your shopping during the day and stocking up the refrigerator. We had a few stormy days and stayed by the fire, cooked great meals, and played games. You really don't need to bring anything extra because the place had everything you'd need for a week stay. It was a wonderful experience, and we will definitely go back.

We enjoyed our stay. Very quiet. I read the reviews. And glad I did. We took extra stuff. Paper towels and toilet paper. Washing powder. Extra. And took water and food. Stop by Walmart on the way. Cause it’s a long way back to town.

This place was a room in a condo on the side of a mountain. Nothing else. It is not a resort. The nearby lake was a pay to enter lake. The pool they gave us access to was 2 miles from the room and was only open during office hours (M-F 9am - 5pm, S-S 2pm - 5pm). The unit was spacious enough, but the furniture was old and uncomfortable. 1.5 bathroom and they were both small. Water pressure was weak. Water barely trickled out of the half-bath sink. Kitchen was smaller than most resorts, but functional. Televisions were small but worked well. ||The staff person we spoke with was friendly and helpful. We spoke to her at check in but that was the only time. The office to check in was in a building that looked abandoned and run down. Once we got inside it was fine, but outside was not welcoming.||No amenities on site and the nearest shopping and dining was 20 minutes away. There was a local convenient store and a local restaurant within 5-10 minutes, but not much else.||If all you want is a getaway mountain condo to do some writing or reading, then you might find this place more to your liking, but for anyone else, there are better places to stay.||I hate giving poor reviews, but I cannot in good conscience recommend this place.

This is an old (1980's) timeshare resort. Our duplex sleeps 6. It has a full kitchen, washer, dryer, firewood provided. It is rustic and near Bryce Ski Resort....a plus. Everything worked. We all got a good laugh regarding the tube TV!! If you enjoy peace and silence with beautiful mountain views, you will enjoy Senado Springs Resort. Many breathtaking hiking trails in Shenandoah County.

Location 5/5 Comfort 3/5 Cleanliness 1/5

Stayed here for a week. Check in was super easy, it’s a separate location from where the house is.

Location is excellent if it’s what you are looking for- quiet, secluded, close to nature. There are small trails nearby perfect if you have dogs that love to hike. We were on the first floor so our balcony opened right out to the forest and we could look for deer at night. It’s a peaceful and relaxing getaway.

Comfort- Beds were good, however the pillows were very flat and the blankets not comfortable. I recommend bringing your own blanket- you get a fleece blanket and flat bed cover. The fireplace makes the place super cozy in the evening.

Amenities- make sure to bring your own toiletries. The kitchen did have basic items- pots/pans/plates/mugs/coffee maker/utensils etc. There were some things we had to buy at the store- Tinfoil, fire starter (if you want to use the fireplace), charcoal for the grill outside. There are no food items at all if you plan to cook- ie. oil, seasoning. The water smells very bad and is yellow so don’t plan to drink tap water. Appliances are very old and the washing machine stopped working (drain issue) after using it once so we couldn’t do our laundry.

Cleanliness- the floors were obviously not vacuumed, there were leftover bedsheets in the washing machine from the previous guests, there was some residue on my fleece blanket. The dishes/utensils were not clean. Saw many bugs/insects inside but that was expected since we were on the first floor and so close to nature.

Upon checkout, you are expected to strip your bed, run the dishwasher, place all towels in a pile and a few other things I can’t remember. It’s not a lot but for the price we pay to stay here (it’s affordable but not ā€œcheapā€), I expect the cleaners to do that. Especially since we stayed a whole week with no cleaners, fresh towels, etc.

I don’t know if I would stay here again.
