Me and my husband recently stayed at this resort for a part of our honeymoon. This place is amazing! The rooms and resort itself is very clean and taken care of, staff is there and ready to assist 24/7, everyone is friendly and compassionate. Staff members even gave us a better room and treats to make out honeymoon experience even better. Restaurant is great as well, with clean and fast service, territory around is well maintained. We loved our stay there and wish we could have stayed longer! Thank you again, amazing Semiahmoo staff members for being so nice and kind to us!

We spent 2 nights here in January 2025, and had a wonderful stay! Absolutely gorgeous views, cozy, clean rooms, and friendly service. The pool was warm and despite it being January, we spent many hours in it! Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful.

I have to give a special mention to Timothy at Packers Bar and Grill. He definitely went the extra mile to serve our large party and was so patient with all our kids. Food was delicious and did not have to wait long.

This is such a gorgeous place to stay and we hope to come back one day!

Overall, our stay was fine. Here’s some specific feedback:

Room: You can tell the hotel is a bit dated. The bathroom was very nice (and small) but the room showed its wear and tear. The smoke detector in our room had some weird coloring (smoke? paint?) which was a teeny bit concerning. We also intentionally requested a room with a fire, but were disappointed to find that we weren’t provided with wood, log bags, a lighter, or any supplies to actually use said fireplace. There was an exposed something (not an outlet, some of the wall had been cut into) in the bathroom, which was a little odd.

Housekeeping: We weren’t informed at check in that we had to request housekeeping - I’ve never stayed in a hotel where that is the case. We left our room at 9am on Monday and hung the ā€œyes, please tidy upā€ sign on the door. When we returned after dinner, it was clear housekeeping had not come. I called the front desk for fresh towels and appreciated how quickly they were brought, and then was told that she would request housekeeping for the next day. So just something to be aware of.

Activities: We came in March, so activities were limited. There are movies that play in the theater but when we sat down for the 7:30 show, it never played. We stayed until 7:45 and then went back to our room. Not a big deal, but clearly the movie was forgotten about. My husband utilized the gym. It had everything he needed in terms of equipment. It is a little run down, but serves its purpose well. It’s nice that there is a walking track throughout the gym.

Restaurant: The small cafe was closed for the season, and we didn’t drive to the golf course restaurant. We ate at Packers, the onsite hotel restaurant, twice. The menu is a bit limited, but the service was good and the food was good. Highly recommend the apple and arugula salad - I’ll be trying to recreate that at home!

All in all, our stay was fine. Perhaps my expectations for a 4-star hotel are too high, but I did expect more… luxury. More intentional choices and details. But we had a good time, enjoyed the food, and left happy.

Positive: i loved the ocean view and the modern apartments. We upgraded our room and ended up booking an extra night. the staff were extra helpful in getting us a fair price. Negative: the spa was dated and my experience didn?t feel special. i was looking forward to a pampering experience.

Semiahmoo: where the walls are paper thin, and the toilet paper thinner. I'm honestly not even sure where to begin. I guess I'll start with the room - we paid $329 a night for a for first floor pet-friendly King Suite with a parking lot view. I recently paid less for a 3rd-floor harbor view suite in Victoria. The room was not well appointed. I had no dresser, so it was impossible to fully unpack (although there was a rod and some hangers outside the bathroom). The bathroom itself was very small, and there wasn't a fan so it steamed up quickly during showers. The bed was fine, but the bedding was flimsy and the pillows were so soft that it was kind of a 'why bother' type of situation. But, the worst part about the room was the paper-thin walls. We could hear EVERYTHING - noise in the hall, noise in rooms next door, a screaming kid in the middle of the night that would not stop, alarm clocks going off in the morning, ...you name it! Hard to feel like you are on a romantic getaway when you know that you have an audience.

Next, is the service. We had reservations at the hotel restaurant our first night. We sat at our table for over 20 minutes before getting a drink order in. It was over 40 minutes before we were able to order food, and in total, we spent almost 2 hours just to get through dinner. That said, my burger was good but by no means worth the wait.

On our second night, a Saturday night, we decided to go down to the bar for a nightcap. We arrived at about 8:50pm and our server informed us that last call would be in 10 minutes. Really? What bar has last call at 9pm on a Saturday? Especially where there's literally nowhere else to go for a drink, unless you want to drive in to town (about 15 minutes). We ended up ordering two round of drinks at once, and felt rushed to get out.

I will say that the front of house staff were all kind and friendly, and they deserve 5 stars - but a couple good staff swimming against a tide of mediocrity doesn't cut it. The price tag is not worth the service.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the cleanliness and cozy ambiance. The rooms were spotless and incredibly comfortable, making it easy to relax and unwind. The staff were exceptionally kind and attentive, always ready to help with a smile.

One of the highlights was the variety of cozy seating areas around the fireplaces, which created the perfect setting for relaxing with a book or enjoying a quiet conversation. The scenic view from the hotel was absolutely breathtaking—whether it was sunrise or sunset, the natural beauty surrounding the property was mesmerizing.

If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with excellent service and stunning views, this is the place to be. Highly recommend!

The location is off the beaten path. Pretty much the end of the road. Makes it nice and private.

Rooms are like any other hotel. They have some balcony rooms too. Half the rooms look out onto the parking lot.

The attached restaurant made a couple of meals convenient.

They had some spaces around a large indoor fireplace that made it nice for a large group to hang out. We were not able to use the outdoor seating and fire pits since it was deemed too wet and windy.

They had a kids movie at 5:30 so the adults could go get a drink by themselves.

The hot tub and pool seemed clean. The facilities seemed a little run down. The men’s locker room door looked all beat up. 2 of the 6 showers in the men’s locker room were closed and one of the functional ones didn’t have soap. The sauna was nice. I glanced at the steam room but didn’t use it.

Went out for a couple of walks. Kids had fun picking up smooth stones and oyster shells off the beach. Adults entertained themselves skipping stones on the water.

All in all, a relaxing stay.
