We stayed in 204 for 2 nights for my boyfriend’s birthday. I would have been able to overlook everything but they lied to us and now they are ignoring our emails to make it right. We bought our stay on the 18th, which was also our first night there, we paid an extra 178 to have an ocean view balcony. Total stay was 500. The website said the neighbor is undergoing changes but there is no active construction, I was ok with that. The next morning we wake up to construction sounds and they changed their website to active construction. I emailed them to share my concerns because now we can’t enjoy the balcony all day until about 4p.. we wanted to hangout, have breakfast and coffee, lunch and enjoy the view. I asked for some type of discount because the website said no active construction the day prior. They respond by sending us a screenshot of the current website warning, ignoring the fact that it said something completely different the previous day. I respond pointing that out and they don’t respond, probably because they didn’t expect me to have read the website yesterday and don’t want to own up. I’ve sent 3 follow up emails and still nothing. Horrible customer service. I had the front desk help me print something too and asked about the construction and got aired out. They don’t want to talk about it. I’m not staying here again and recommend staying somewhere else. We had a pocket of peace during sunsets but we kept waking up at night from the highway and then early morning from construction. Sadly we were disturbed but we tried to make the most of our vacation.

Deceptive photos on the website. The rooms are decorated with garage sale finds and the handle on the tub was broken so we had to go without showers. The front desk couldn't do anything about it but it obviously had been broken for a while. The rooms sit over a row of dumpsters and the ocean view is due to a construction site. The breakfast tray is an overripe banana, warm yogurt, and a cheap packaged pastry.

FYI. STREET NOISE from PCH!!!! Red flag when ear plugs are provided on your nightstand and other Google reviews. Our 1st room had a shower smaller than a toilet stall.and the shower door wasn't attached properly. Our 2nd room was also on the ground floor facing PCH, Pacific Coast Highway. The shower handle wasn't working properly and hot water wasn't hot. Shower door leaked water on the ground making it a hazard. Curtain in the bathroom next to the wall heater didn't seem up to code. Light switches in both rooms were at opposite ends of the room. Front doors for both rooms didn't seem secure especially being on PCH. The In needs remodeling and maintenance. Don't stay here. You will regret.

This was the absolute worst beach side hotel stay ever! For the $300 price tag, the room is extremely small with nowhere to put your suitcase or hang your clothes. There’s only one window in the front and one window in the bathroom, so the room is very dark with no overhead lighting. No where to charge your phone. Bathroom has a cute window that faces the ocean, but the shower head is extremely low and the door does not close. Everything is very old and raggedy. The bed is extremely uncomfortable, noisy and hard. There is a lot of street noise as it is on the PCH. When we checked in, we asked about the continental breakfast and they explained it’s from 7 AM to 1 PM. The next morning we woke up to find that there is no food anywhere. Just coffee and tea spread throughout the lobby on different stations which was very odd. My husband asked the very rude female staff that was on the phone and basically gave no eye contact, where is the food and she said it’s only by request. There is no mention of this on the website nor on the confirmation email. One of the reasons we booked the hotel was because of the continental breakfast. When we were checking out, the very rude female staff worker accused us of being noisy, partying and threatened us with a video. She stated that another guest left the hotel because of the “noise” and called the police. He asked to see the video but she didn’t have one. She said that quiet time is after 10 PM, but there is no mention of that on the website nor in the confirmation email. The time that we were accused of “partying” we were at our dinner reservation, and then the beach after. Apparently the cops were called but we never spoke with them because none of it is true. They are all accusations, and I thought it was very brazen and unprofessional of the manager to attack us in this manner. Another side note, the very rude female staff worker that was accusing us of being loud and partying just stared my husband straight in the eyes like she was possessed or ready to attack him when she was telling him these false statements. It was very odd! We will never return to this hotel again! We have booked a beach stay next month across the street and down the road at a highly reviewed spot because it looks very serene, updated, and professionally ran. Do your research before you book this hotel, it is a piece of junk!

The staff was very warm and friendly, making for a pleasant stay. The location is convenient for easy beach access, and the free parking is a great bonus. While the room was decent, it could have been cleaner, and the bathroom was a bit disappointing.

This hotel is about a mile away from the main part of town, but easily accessible by the free trolley. It does have parking, so you can leave your car there. It was nice to be away from the noise of the busy downtown area. It is on the ocean side of the street, so you just walk around the corner to the Agate Street Beach. The rooms are small, but adequate. Good mattress. Nice counter in the bathroom with room for two people's toiletries. Our room did not have a view (first floor), but the second floor might. Be warned that as of July 2024, there is a house being constructed right behind the property bringing in big equipment. A little noisy at times. Nice common area with outside and inside tables with coffee machines (including a frother!). Hotel golden retriever - so cute! The breakfast (available upon request - piece of fruit, Activia yogurt, small pastry) was so so. This could easily be improved. Nicer yogurt and better pastry - they were tasteless and dry. The best part of the stay was Maddy and Jack working the front desk. They were so helpful and sweet answering our many questions. Genuine and kind.

BOOK A DIFFERENT HOTEL!!! If Laguna beach had a motel 6, this would be it. They need to take a bulldozer and knock this old thing down. My husband and I booked a “king temperpedic” bed only to find out all these rooms are QUEEN beds and there is no temperpedic to be found at this hotel. The customer service agent looks to barely be 18 years old and he offered me a “nicer” room (still a queen bed) for a $150 up charge. The true hotel manager would not come from behind her office door because she did not want to face me and the truth. To even imagine paying $400 for one of these rooms is a tragedy. The toilet paper is from the dollar store, the bed had hair, visible dirt and sand in them and me and my 6 foot husband had no room to sleep in the QUEEN bed. The overall premises is immensely old, motel vibes and the bathroom shower is nearly from the 80s and also DIRTY!!! It makes it worse that they LIE on the receipt and say you were issued a king bed. DO NOT BOOK this hotel you are not getting anything worth your money and it’s disgusting!!!

Hard to sleep on a mattress that creaks with every turn. Room is a small mish mash, but has basic convenience. Construction noise at 440 am is another problem.
