I travel for work so I see my fair share of hotels and this is my first time ever leaving a review for a hotel. I have never witnessed a more impatient and unkind staff. Please consider staying somewhere else for your own sake. My bathroom hadn’t been cleaned when I got there and there was still urine in the toilet and stains on the sheets. Please find somewhere restful.

Our check in experience went well. The young gentleman was courteous.

However, our room floor was filthy and not mopped. It had shoe stains from previous customers and not swept.

After talking to the maid, she saw the floor's condition and first claimed it was the type of wood flooring and not dirt and mud stains. After showing her that was not correct, wiped a a piece myself, on the second day she cleaned it and claimed it was the previous day's maid on duty.

The furniture, fridge and microwave were fine. However, the bed sheet and comforter both had yellow stains!

The room was not dusted well either.

In needing a blanket for my daughter, I called the front desk and the older Indian gentleman on duty told me he was busy with checking customers in and told me to go out and look for the maid services door and ask them myself! He was not hospitable by any means.

My husband physically went over there, and this time he said we couldn't get a blanket since the maids were gone for the day and he did not have the door code or key! My daughter slept with her full coat on and socks. This is not okay.

These two issues really dampened our weekend stay at Berkeley - we flew from Los Angeles snd expected what's advertised on the website regarding cleanliness and service.

It would very reasonable to get a credit given these issues. I don't expect that to happen. Be warned if you stay here and bring slippers and your own bedding if you have nowhere else to stay!

the location near UC and BART is good, and parking lot is fantastic. Unfortunately the room smelled like a Lysol bomb went off days ago and hadn't been opened since. Opened the window for a couple of hours to air out but couldn't shake the overwhelm. Had to finally close it, lots of things scurrying in dark outside I was worried a brave rat might jump through the screen. Loved the microwave, fridge, and locksafe. Water pressure was dim, but workable. BYO soap.

Very disappointed. I was not expecting luxury, but the price I had paid for the room was too much for what I received.
When I first arrived, half of the parking lot was taped off, looked like they just had it recently repaved, therefore parking was limited.
Upon checking in at the front desk, I was told that they couldn’t find my reservation. I attempted to pull up my reservation on my phone, but it was not loading. I verified that I was at the correct address and gave them my full name. After presenting my ID and telling me a third time that I might be at the wrong place, the front desk says “I’m just playing” and hands me my room keys….I was too exasperated, hot, and tired to really respond in the moment.

By 7pm, we left our room to attend a concert. As we were leaving, a group of people were hanging out in the parking lot having a party: music, solo cups, drinks out of the trunk of a car. Assuming they were pregaming, I didn’t think anything of it until we returned to the hotel after the show and they were still there partying like they were in a bar. At that point, I went into the lobby and asked the guy working behind the desk how much longer the “party” was going to go on for (it was already 11pm). He said that he had already given them a warning; he seemed to be a really timid and shy person so I wasn’t surprised that he had let the party going on for so long.

As far as the room, it was tiny. I inspected everything when I first got in and noticed that there was still hair in the shower and sink. When I check into a hotel, I expect it to be cleaned up after the previous guests. After wiping it down myself, I decided to take a shower. The shower is poorly designed, with the shower head facing the shower curtain. This was an accessible room, so there is no lip retaining any water within the shower; the floor was immediately covered with water when I initially turned it on. In order to prevent further water spillage in the entire bathroom, I had to keep the shower head turned toward the corner of the shower.

Overall, I was not a fan of this property. Had I had a smooth check in and no parties being thrown in the parking lot, I might have been able to overlook the poor quality and design of the room, but with everything in mind, I was charged way too much.

Came to stay for 1 night as we were attending a concert in Oakland. Upon arrival the staff at the front desk was pleasant. Upon entering the room I noticed that was dirty stains on top of the bedding, I wasn't going to sleep on top of it anyways but when I lifted the cover the sheets had some stains on it as well.. as we got back late after the concert I ended up just lying a towel on top and sleep on it. I should have complained when I saw it but it was my fault for not saying anything. The website also says complimentary bottles of water upon request and when we called the front desk they said they ran out. I think we paid way too much for this place. I would not recommend or stay here again. The only good thing was that there was a Trader Joe's across the street.

Unkind service, irresponsible response, avoiding mistakes. We rented a room and stayed overnight. However, there was a problem with the water tank in the toilet, so we had to refill the water tank ourselves with a bucket to flush it everytime. It was very embarrassing and confusing, but the desk staff told us there was nothing they could do about it because it was night, and to contact their manager in the morning. We waited and had to check out with the inconvenience until the end. However, the staff in the morning also told us that there was nothing they could do about it because we had made a reservation at the agency service and told us to contact the agency service. They didn't care about our inconvenience, were rude and irresponsible, and never saw a smile. We contacted the agency service and connected with the hotel, but the response came back that the hotel had never received such feedback from us. We complained twice! We were not compensated properly and the small amount of points the agency service gave us were all we received. They are rude, unkind, and do not see any wrongdoing. It was the worst hotel we have ever experienced in our lives. Do not come here. That should be better to sleep the little bench in front of this hotel.

Came here a few weeks having booked the hotel a month ahead. At first the man at the counter kept saying he couldn’t find my reservation. I showed it to him and he still couldn’t find it. Spelled out my last name and he still couldn’t find it. Then I told him my first name and he then said my last name as if I hadn’t been saying it the whole entire time. Unprofessional atmosphere and dismissive when I was trying to check in.

Rooms were okay, but the AC was loud and the bathroom ventilator wouldn’t shut off. It was just on. There was a weird smell in the room.

Location is good, close to the BART station. Highlight of my day was checking out.

I was leaving my room with my daughter and the cleaning lad saw us leave the room. we left! But dad stayed behind and she opened the door with her key. She then saw Father in the room and she left. I'm sure she was there to steal something. Her thinking no one was in the room she even told us goodbye and she saw us leave in the car.
