Its more a halfway house/homeless shelter now. Regular smell of drugs come from there and people arguing with each other. A pitbull was running loose from there today. I know because I saw the owner come and get it. This used to be a respectable establishment but it's not a "hotel" in my opinion anymore.

Hello. My name is Starlight. I'm currently residing in a one bdroom at this location 1309 w shaw. And I currently do owe rent for the months of July-Sept, first and foremost. I am very responsible a person of accountability, if I am wrong I've no problem admitting. If you are wrong I will also say you are wrong when it's my place. With that being said; these staff 1309 West Shaw Ave, M Lee, Klee, and Ms. T are bullies. They are extremely unethical employees. I am a slender yet curvy woman. I'm kind so I assume everyone else are the same. I've been financially struggling for a few months, so April -June I owed rent in the amount of 1215, I was finally capable of paying that full amount June 13, 2024. June 18, I had a meeting with Ms. T, K was present they both made comments on my dress and how I look then tracy stated I should get one just like it for her son's wedding, K commented yeah you should. Kaylee prior to this conversation asked me what was the occasion, I replied no occasion I always dress it was just ( Kaylee intervene). she said, stress, I said yes. The whole time nothing about any late fees for the month of June never came up, their last words were, I should get a dress just like it, yeah you should! Oh Starlight, I'm sorry I didn't know you were still here, yeah we're done now. June 24, 2024 I received a 3 day notice to quit to late fees I owe for the month of June in the amount of $95.00 because everyday after the 6 of the month there's a late fee of $46.00. Honestly the one the mailed I through in the garbage because I thought to myself you could've said something and why did you except the rent. Then July I wasn't sure what to do because if you owe money they said they're unable to except next months rent. However I still have to pay it. So July I never received a 3 day notice for July just a phone message from Kaylee saying I missed my July rent July 9, 2024 M and Ms. T knocked at my door July 16, with a document saying it was for if I feel as if I've been treated unfairly anytime while renting here, I have the right to speak to some one and report it. Then August 20, 2024 I get an unlawful detainer posted on my door. And in the notice nowhere does its mention late fees for June, which I thought that was the reason for the unlawful detainer, at least that would've made sense. Wednesday I received a 24 hour notice to come in and perform repair inspections on the 20 making that today, but they enter my unit and damage steal and etcetera every time I leave my unit. I have 3 mini cameras in this unit, but because my phone isn't working I couldn't see anything but 2 close acquaintances have the access to the video, And caught all three M, Ms. T, And K entering my unit the same day after I left. He showed Ms.Tracy going through my clothes in my closet, my bedroom drawers, looking through my clothes on my bed, looking through my things in the bathroom and bathroom closet. They're caught looking through my things &destructing my things. Much more I could write a small novel. The place is nice, the program also, but the current female staff members aren't. He's still going through the videos, They literally watch my every move, and it's 5:12 P.M. they didn't do the inspection not in 24 hours or 48, but Monday after I come back there's going to be a 24 hour notice on my door and they dated it for a prior day, to enter. Then cal aim gives a five thousand dollar deposit on your behalf, these staff members M, make it look like you owe money to keep the deposit. The man on property causing destruction, btw, he's also on the video September, I have to look at the video date for the exact date.Before I had pictures of the damages, no clue who the one I seen isn't a maintenance guy, he lives here on the property. Also Ms T 5-19-24. was recorded reading the 24 hr. notice I put back on the door so someone besides me would see the contradiction. Concocted deceitful notice was produced, she slipped in my unit while she read the notice

I like to share "good" and "not so good" reviews.
I'm sorry but this place should be closed down and redone. The rooms are filthy. The carpets looked like they've not been cleaned in years. The decor, old and outdated. I went to 2 diff rooms, neither were satisfactory.
How could an owner be proud to have people stay here? Would their family stay here? I wouldn't let my dog on the sofa they to were filthy. I was there less than an hour. So VERY DISAPPOINTED! The one positive thing I have to say, the grounds could be very pretty and probably were at one time.

I had been staying at the Fresno San Joaquin for years, it used to be great. Clean affordable rooms with breakfast service in the morning. Great! However the family sold out to a Best Western and immediately I could tell something major changed before I got my room. The grounds were always well managed, but today it was completely unkept, dying shrubs, garbage in thrown about. Then I noticed a guy without a shirt standing by his room smoking, he was loaded with prison tats. Later that evening I came back only to be greeted by 4 police cars in the front. The next evening with a few friends visiting me there noticed several drug deals going on in the parking lot and hookers. We watched a guy running in with Samsung TV box, it got worse, even our front desk person said, "It's like this every single night! I wanna get out of here!" ....in short, the San Joaquin Hotel in Fresno is no longer the same with their new owners. Best Western have simply trashed a once great family owned hotel. Very sad.

Very nice hotel hidden on a main Fresno thruway. If you don't like the sounds of cars passing by a majority of the day & night, make sure you request a room back away from the front. I really like this "All-Suite" hotel located in a fairly central location. Not more than a mile in both directions are restaurants, gas, banks, etc., and just about another mile each is either the 41 Freeway or the 99 Highway. The rooms are very roomy, a front room w/separate back bedroom, sleeper sofa, comfy beds, lots of relaxation locations, and many with balconies/patios. Warning: DON'T shut the door when you first walk in without finding a working light source! Twice (2 different rooms) I have walked in, shut the door, and proceeded to bashing my leg/falling over the extremely solid coffee table in the front room. OUCH!! The front desk person will not win any acting awards for pretending to care when I hobbled to the lobby to complain. Often, better rooms can't be found at better prices!! Have a great stay!!

I’ve been doing work on the San Joaquin hotel in Fresno for a few weeks now. It was out dated but cozy. It is now more up to date and looks a lot more inviting especially for the price. I recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a room on a budget. Nice area, the staff work hard to take care of all you needs and the place is very warm. A cozy atmosphere for sure.

Stayed Aug 2022, This place at one point was a nice boutique motel. It was a dump this time around. Blame it on Covid or whatever. Pool was filthy, hot tub covered with a tarp. Then the room appeared to have been something out of Animal House. Granted in the midst of a renovation, but one of the worst experiences I've had, coupled with no answers at the desk. Don't book a non refundable room online, check the room out first before you're out the money.

We checked in and the first night our air conditioning went out and we had to switch rooms at midnight. Our new room had no hot water- do no showers for the next 2 days. Ants were all over the kitchen we hadn’t even cooked in. Pictures were missing off the walls and the bedroom had no door knob. Only 2 pillows. No comforters. The girl at the desk promised a refund but the gm has ignored all of my calls and emails. It’s a mess. So sad. This place used to be awesome.
