Despite some short misgivings I am giving this resort 5 stars. The location in Mission Bay is perfect on the water close to everything you need and might want to see. The staff has been exceptional and welcoming. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. It has all of the amenities of a resort. The rooms are spacious and clean despite being slightly worn and mildly outdated. We were on the eighth floor of the high rise building with a beautiful view. The fitness room has everything you might want for a quick work out but the bikes required a peloton membership even though they had a code to use. It drops you right back to the login page. I haven’t yet tried the restaurants but there is a small coffee shop with decent coffee but the selection is minimal and it is only open until 1 pm. The tennis and pickle ball courts look great and the spa is so appealing. The overall price for what you get makes this an amazing value.

2nd time staying here for a vacation. We all loved it. My husband & I , our adult kids & grandkids. Relaxing & a lot of fun things. Rooms were clean & nice. Food was very good. Grant (front desk manager) is very nice & made sure our 2nd visit was even better than the first. Highly recommend this resort.

Just finished up a 3 night stay with my husband & five month old and we loved it! We stayed in a garden view suite in the Balboa building. Our room was clean, comfortable, great seating and views. We loved all of the resort amenities and the staff was relaxed in the best way possible and helpful if needed. The location right next to the walking trail, bay and close to other parts of SD is perfect and peaceful. I am so excited we found this resort and plan to come back with a group in the future.

I had an absolutely amazing stay at the San Diego Mission Bay Resort! The location is unbeatable, offering breathtaking views of the bay and easy access to the beach. Also located very close to a great playground for kids. The resort’s amenities are top-notch—beautiful pool, a well-equipped fitness center. My room was spacious, clean, and had all the comforts of home with an added touch of luxury. The peaceful atmosphere made it a perfect getaway, yet there’s so much to do nearby, whether you’re looking to explore or relax. I highly recommend this resort for anyone looking to experience the best of San Diego!
Booking through Costco was a great deal and they waved the resort fee

1st time in San Diego… Hotel was nice and the staff was friendly. Great boutique and gift shop.
Pool area is great, plenty of room and chairs. We missed out on some of the restaurants due to the time of our vacation (Mon-Thurs).
Coffee shop is has great am treats. Coffee is made the right way (strong). Great walking trails by the hotel.
We wished that they would have had some options for sandwiches poolside other than the plastic wrapped ones from the coffee shop.
We used an Uber and unfortunately once we arrived at the resort our options were limited during our stay.

Great location for a resort and has beach access! The room was great, we stayed in an ocean view room and the view was awesome. Love the beach access and the room itself. The amenities were not as described though. One of the hot tub was out of order and the pool was NOT heated. The water station by the pool was also out of order. Too many things were out of order during our stay. Services at the hotel could definitely use improvement. We flew in late on Friday night and the check in closes at 11pm, which gave us a lot of anxiety trying to make it on time.

Beautiful resort. Grounds were very well kept and staff was friendly. The pool looked nice but it was a little chilly for swimming while we were there. The two hot tubs felt amazing in the morning and after a long day of walking. We loved returning at night to fire pits and heaters. The live music was great too. Best cranberry orange muffins I've ever had in the on-site coffee shop. We did struggle to find hours for restaurants/bars/amenities/activities without having to jump back and forth between websites. Since we visited in the winter months, hours were limited.

Theft of personal property in my room ruined an otherwise enjoyable stay. This is my honest review. Rooms were updated with nice touches and bed was very comfortable. Dining at the restaurant was very delicious. Location very centrally located and nice. Unfortunately a staff member stole my cologne during my stay. I called and left message for the manger and never received call back. This reflects very poorly on the property and ruined an otherwise enjoyable stay. I would not recommend staying at this property. They hire staff that steals and worse still a management team that apparently doesn’t care to respond or investigate when informed.
