Sadly the visitor center was closed. They have a temporary one set up. Not too much to see. The cave was interesting. You cannot go in it. Short walk to it. The hiking path was closed down to a tree taking out the entrance. Don’t go left leaving that road isn’t much fun.

A nice little stop, it will be nicer when the main visitors center is able to open again within a couple of months.
The walk to the cave was on a boardwalk and not to far. There is also hiking available.
North Alabama is beautiful country!

My husband and I loved visiting this cave in Bridgeport, AL. The walk to the cave is a short .2 miles on a boardwalk. You cannot go into the cave due to the waters, however, you'll be able to walk up to the front of it. There is also an optional nature hike you can do that is 1.2 miles, it is steep, so keep that in mind.

Not a whole lot to see, as the cave is not accessible. It is an interesting area that is run by the National Park Service. The cave was excavated by archeologists in the 1950s. They removed 2 tons of artifacts that are at the Smithsonian.

A beautiful hike with a clear path. That was a plus considering I had hiked another cave trail the day before only to get lost and have to climb onto a busy roadway the day before ?‍! Wonderful guides engaging a school group.

Beautiful and calm place, no rush at all, there is a visitor center with few rangers in charge. No entry fee, very small trail , you can enjoy nature to its core like sounds , smell, wind…. No food available so carry something if you are coming for a picnic. Cave and it’s prehistory is awesome. No aces to cave when I visited .
