New spot at the municipal airport. There website says: "Indulge in mouthwatering food, while enjoying mountain views & planes take-off/landing on the runway. Every bite is a journey worth savoring, so visit us today for an unforgettable experience."
My co-workers & I ordered our food online. We ordered the Caesar salad, Turkey Club, and cheesesteak grilled cheese.
My coworker said her salad was ok and other said her sandwich was mediocre. She took it apart and picked at each individual things.
My sandwich was actually good. The cheese was nice/gooey & the meat was tasteful.

Side note: We ordered a cheesecake but forgot it. John was nice enough to call and try for us to come pick it up, but was too busy we couldn't. So I had to come another day to get a cash refund.

The price is a bit pricey for what you get as well as no sides with the items we ordered. You can order a side of Vickie's chips or sweet potato fries.
There is plenty of seating inside. John the owner was the only one working and super friendly.

The owner, John Loepsinger, should be embarrassed of his actions.

I’ve been flying into Casa Grande airport and spending time there for 10+ years. There has always been space for a restaurant inside the terminal but I had never seen one there so you can imagine my excitement when I noticed runway 5 had opened. My son and his mother, being local to Casa Grande, have eaten there many times and said the food was good. Unfortunately good food does not outweigh poor customer service and a flat out rude owner.

Today I flew in from CO with my mother and my son to meet his mother. After a quick exchange to drop off my son, my mother and I were going to fly down to Tucson to visit family and spend the night. We discussed grabbing a bit to eat but neither of us were too hungry and we had dinner plans shortly in Tucson. We looked for a snack at the vending machine when my mother spotted a rack of bananas sitting at the restaurant counter. She proceeded to the restaurant counter while I hung back. She waited and finally a man sitting with a large group at the restaurants seating area abruptly asked “can I help you?” from his chair. After asking to buy a banana, my mother was met with a “we close at 2, all the signs say that.”.

At this point she walked away and we would have simply left until I over heard the man speaking to his group complaining about how it’s rude for people to not take note of the signs. I approached the man and advised him there is no reason to be rude and that there is not a single sign from the airplane ramp entrance indicating hours of operation nor even a “closed” sign on the counter. On top of that, there was a large group sitting in the restaurant eating, foolish of us to assume they might be open! Ha.

At this point we ventured to the vending machine for a quick snack. By the time we left, the gentlemen that spoke up was cashing out his table! I asked for the managers or owners name to which I was simply pointed to a card sitting by the register. Come to find out, the gentlemen we had interacted with was, John Loepsinger, the owner.

I am a small business owner myself and John is an embarrassment to small business owners. I will not support runway 5 and will make sure this unfortunate encounter is known. All over a banana…

We LOVE the Cafe! My family has gone for the Fly In grand opening and it was so delicious we went again the following week for lunch to try other items. We have been a handful of times now and it’s always a favorite for the kids. I had a chicken salad sandwich that was so good! Fried ravioli are to die for! The soup is also very delicious. The atmosphere is like no other. Friendly faces, flights coming and going then you can go visit the planes when you’re done. Such a fun spot for all ages!

Really wish I could give this place another half star if I could. Went for first time today & had the Sierra (breakfast) burrito. Freshly prepared, nice presentation, and oh, so delicious. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu.

Just what our town needed! Runway 5 Cafe is beautiful, spacious and clean inside plus you get to watch the airplanes takeoff! Our food was amazing! We got the club and the captain burrito. Will order both again, after making my way through the rest of the menu!

I've done both dine in and take out and have never had a less than perfect experience. The service is top notch, even when they're swamped, which happens a lot. Be sure to call ahead, because sometimes reservations are needed due to them being busy and all the spots are filled, especially on Saturdays. No matter what, the food is great.

The food was really good, lots of options on the menu. Having breakfast at the airport was a fun experience, we sat on the patio next to the runway while waiting for our food. The guy who runs the place was very kind and inviting, we'll definitely be going back.
