My family and I had a great experience with Rod’s Alaskan guide services. We booked their services for ice fishing, snowmobile rentals and dog sledding. For the ice fishing, it was my husband and my son who experienced that excursion and they both loved it, both caught plenty of fish, their experience included them being able to keep one fish and having the option to getting it cooked on the spot for them to consume.
The snowmobile experience was amazing, the snowmobiles are well maintained, and our tour guide, Victoria, was fantastic! Victoria walked us through all safety features, and made sure we were comfortable, having fun while prioritizing our safety at all times! Even though we really wanted to see a moose, and didn’t get the opportunity, we still very much enjoyed the experience.
I do want to point out and give credit to the team/staff running the check-in and lobby area, they are very organized and attentive with all the customers, they made sure to advice if they believe you needed more layers of clothing to stay warm and comfortable out in the winter temperatures, they provide all necessary layers/boots as needed at no extra cost.
Lastly, the dog sledding experience was so much fun! My husband and son had one musher, Steve, who they both enjoyed and had a great time with, and my daughter and I had our own musher, Laura, who we enjoyed and had a great time riding with! Laura and Steve are awesome mushers and both shared great knowledge on the raising of Alaskan huskies! They truly love their dogs, and them sharing the quirkiness of each of their dogs and the names of their dogs made the whole experience even more special! Our favorite Alaskan husky from Laura’s team was Sweet one!

Visited recently for a snowmobile tour and a dog sled tour. Went on the 2 hour snowmobile tour with Josh as our guide and had a great time! He did a great job providing clear instructions on how to operate and helped take photos and videos of the trip. For the dog sledding, went on a 30 minute tour with Luther as our musher. It was a great experience and a lot of fun meeting Luther’s pack. Would highly recommend Rod’s for both snowmobile and dog sled adventures

Outstanding place with awesome people and amazing dogs. We did the Dog Sledding run and had a blast. Yea it was a bit cold but they bundle you up with a full stash of jackets, boots and cold weather gear to use. They only offered Water bottle and coffee and hot cocoa so if looking for something else better pack it.

We snowmobile a lot, and this by far was the most comfortable we have ever been! They have the best gear and the most awesome guides. Victoria was our guide for the snowmobile tour and she was amazing. She stopped at the most perfect spots for us to take pics. She pointed out three moose. One was a cow with her baby💕 After our snowmobile tour, we did a four hour ice fishing tour. Mike got us set up and catching fish within 10 minutes of arriving. We had a great group of a dad and his three sons that joined us. Mike had everyone catching fish/he was making us hot chocolates and he’s a mean chef. He filleted the fish and grilled them with butter and lemon pepper seasoning, which was amazing😋 We will always book with Ron’s on our return trips to Alaska!

We had a fantastic time! Matt the musher was so fun and knowledgeable and the dog sled ride was amazing!
Victoria was our guide for the snowmobile adventure and we had a blast! We could have kept going so far!
And Noah was great when we went ice fishing! He was fun and helpful, assisting with removing fish and baiting hooks and he cooked our fish for us at the end of the evening. All three adventures were so fun and we would go with Rods again!

Had an amazing time dogsledding today with Cooper. My husband and I are on an Alaskan winter vacation celebrating each other and the beauties of this great state. The dogs are loved and well taken care of. Excellent gear as well. I highly recommend

We also did the 2 hour snowmobile excursion with Josh. If you love the outdoors and an adventure... this is it. There are miles and miles of trails... you won't be bored. The snowmobile were in excellent condition and even had heated handle grips which you will appreciate in January and February below zero temps. Our helmets had heated visors and we were geared up with everything we needed to stay warm and safe.

This place has it going on and I'm glad I chose Rods.

Worth every penny. Rod was our guide snowmobiling. Took extra time letting the group get photos and swapping the riding order around so everyone got a turn to go fast/slow. Pretty epic scenery. Highly recommend. We also tie a dogsledding ride which was nice to see the scenery at a slower pace and learn about the dogs. I always wondered how they didn’t freeze to death. Pretty awesome creatures.

We booked two different tours: one for snowmobiling and another for dog sledding. We actually preferred the dog sledding because we got to interact with the dogs, who were super cute and aged between 2 and 6 years old. Our guide was very friendly and explained the relationships among the dogs—apparently, an entire family of dogs was running the sled. The 30-minute dog sledding experience was just right, as it was extremely cold outside.

Snowmobiling was also enjoyable, but the ride was slow, and you just follow your guide. If you’re sitting in the back instead of driving, it can be uncomfortable as your knees face the cold air nonstop. That said, the scenery was spectacular—absolutely breathtaking!

If I had to pick just one tour, I’d definitely go with dog sledding. Overall, highly recommend both experiences!
