Beautiful location on the creek, property was well maintained and the beds were comfortable. Unfortunately there was an event happening during our stay and our room was directly over the event room. The music literally reverberated throughout our room, vibrating furniture (and us!) while we were trying to sleep. It wasn't the fault of the party goers... they booked the event room until 11 pm... just an unfortunate design that has guest rooms above the party room. Other than that, the stay was pleasant.

Came here for my honeymoon in March. There was almost nobody else at the hotel. For the last 2 nights, we were upgraded to their best room FOR FREE! And they gave us a gift basket. Absolutely amazing experience

Edit: we ended up getting divorced 2 years later but the hotel is still absolutely amazing. Probably won’t come back due to memories, but if it weren’t for that I’d go every year

If you are coming to or leaving Yellowstone, this is a great stopping point right near the Beartooth Pass.

After a long day in the park and Beartooth Pass we stumbled on to this charming place. It is very much a throw back to the good old days of hotels with its homey charm and quaintness. We found all the accommodations to be great for our family.

Our girls loved the large HEATED pool and the balcony out our room had a beautiful view of the rushing stream. We we able to safely leave our sliding door open to our deck to listen to the stream at night.

Yes, this location is older with some wear, but if you are looking for a quiet, charming location to stay in, this is the place.

The restaurant was even so kind as to make our family a very late supper with only 20 minutes left to closing time.

All the staff was very friendly and incredibly accommodating.

There were several other benefits (volleyball, etc) that we didn't take in because our stay was short.

They had a very nice set up for breakfast and it was perfect for our family with small children.

If you're looking for a local, authentic hotel experience that isn't a big chain, I'd highly recommend this spot!

We had our wedding here and it was absolutely amazing. The staff was incredible, they helped us get everything planned at the venue, set up everything for the ceremony and the tables at the reception. Rachel was incredible to work with and answered all of me questions even if it was already answered a few times. The location is absolutely stunning. The food was truly amazing.

This was a family favorite growing up and we have returned many times since. Love that they have large ballroms for events. The view of the creek out back from your balcony is so pretty. Rooms are a bit dated but big, nice to have a kitchen. I think a fresh upgrade would do wonders for the overall appeal! Location is excellent for skiing Red Lodge Mnt.

This place is definitely old, but we were able to get a suite last minute. It was ground floor and perfect for letting our dogs out. The front desk was kind and even lent us a tool for our truck. Nothing fancy but would recommend if you need a place to stay in the area

We stayed here on a work retreat and it was amazing. The scenery was beautiful! We even were welcomed by a coyote walking thru the trees. The staff were fabulous. Our room, with a balcony, had a view of the creek down below and mountain beyond. Our room was very clean, very nice and warm, coffee pot, blow dryer, etc. Nice beds, too! There's an indoor swimming pool, the kids had a blast in. In the lobby is a breakfast room, with free coffee (@ 5am!), muffins, bagels, cereal. I really enjoyed my time here and went home feeling so refreshed! I highly recommend it!

Not sure why this place has bad reviews. Maybe people’s expectations were different. This is an older, rustic Montana lodge, so we were expecting that. The front desk people were super friendly and helpful. They let us have late check out because we wanted to go for a morning hike. The rooms were very clean. We originally were given a room on the front- pond side. But my husband asked if we could switch to the back by the creek, which they did. We are used to hunting lodges, so this was great! If you are looking for a modern place, this is not it. But we wanted a simple, rustic, clean, friendly place outside of town. We recommend staying here. Plus the Old Piney Dell restaurant is on the property and we really enjoyed it as well!
