A great find, in my opinion. Traveling with my sisters on our way back into Seattle and happened to pick this place on a whim. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was great. Loved reading about the history here. Food was good too. I got the taco salad with chicken. Worth a visit!

For being the only bar on Mercer Island, it’s not a bad option. The food slightly overpriced but fine, the atmosphere is lively and the service is good for the most part. I’ve been there three times and only once was the waitress a bit unhelpful. I asked for the price of two different whiskey drinks to which the waitress responded “I dunno” and a young waiter walking behind her said “who cares? This is Mercer island”. I guess that’s what you get from privileged Gen Z kids who haven’t payed their way through life yet lol . Other than that, the bartender is awesome and Brett was very helpful. It’s worth going to if you live on the island and want a bar setting.

The best part about this place is that it's safe to order anything. I've been here multiple times and have ordered lunches, dinners, and desserts and everything was the best version of the dish I could have imagined. The only improvement I can think of is parking. They have what looks to be an adequate for the building size parking lot behind the building, but with how convenient the location is, how easy it is to get to, and how fantastic the food and drinks are, it's ALWAYS packed

Great location, long history. Competent food, very friendly service. Only negative: they blare their music at lunchtime on a weekday. We managed to find a side room where the volume was lower.

This is a very interesting place with lots of history. It is beautifully maintained, one of the coolest outdoor patios that I have ever seen. Excellent bar, food and dinners, great cocktails. Friendly attentive staff. If you’re in the area of Mercer Island, this has to be on your bucket list. GO!!

So I have held off posting a review here but since this was the 3rd time I have been here and pretty much the same results I feel it's time for the non Mercer Island residents to know.

Last week was attending a conference on the island where the group was going to this bar after for a more social gathering. It was a rainy night. When I arrived I walked to the back to say hi to a couple colleagues then I went to the bar to get a napkin to clean my glasses which were wet and to ask for a glass of water since I do not drink during the week anymore. Before I could get a word, the bartender is giving me a dissertation on the rules including 2 drink minimum. By the time he finished his speech I decided this is a place I did not need to stay at, I turned and left. What happened to a greeting and asking how you can help a customer before barking rules.
Clearly, if you are not a regular here then you are not welcome. Do yourself a favor and go the extra distance to a place that actually wants your business regardless of where you live.

I really wanted to rate this place 1 star to keep people away - but I’ve been eating and drinking here for 25 years, so it’s kind of hard to lie. One negative point: good luck getting in if you don’t arrive very early or fairly late. Also, don’t park illegally because you will be ticketed/towed. Park down the street and walk.
