We have been renting this home from Meredith for 10 years. The price is always right and the layout provides for an excellent family vibe. We look forward to this trip every year.
After a horrible storm there were a few leaks due to the new roofing but Meredith had maintenance readily available to help. We were more concerned about the home than we were ourselves.

Our house was PERFECTION! Right by the beach and the most amazing views. We loved our house so much and will DEF stay again! Oh and the beds were SO COMFORTABLE. Very impressed 🙂

I find it very helpful to see as many reviews as I can before making a decision to rent a house anywhere. I hope anyone planning to rent Sunset Harbor in Lincoln City, OR from Meredith Lodging finds this information helpful. The house itself DOES have tremendous views of the Oregon Coast, is fairly private and is within great walking distance to stairs that take you can take down to the beach or to Hwy 101 where the shops and restaurants are. When you arrive at the house, you NEED to walk all the way up the steep path to where you see the deck as this is where the front door actually is. Once in the house you CAN open the door that’s down on the lower level to then bring in your luggage. Just a heads up, the lock on this door is very difficult to open; they need to fix this. Overall, the house was tidy and clean but there were some things that could make it better. The main living quarters ARE upstairs with a kitchen, eating area, living room & half bath. The three bedrooms and main bath are downstairs. Note - if you don’t like spiral staircases, this isn't your house. The kitchen is equipped with most everything you need, nice appliances but they could upgrade their cookware sets and kitchen utensils as they look very old and worn out. We couldn’t get the receiver to produce any sound/volume for the projector screen, so we called Meredith Lodging and put in a work request which they never followed up on with us but eventually we fussed with it enough we got it to work. The projection screen was fun to have and worked well. We wished the house was a little more dialed as it would've made the nightly rate seem worth it. The wallpaper on the spiral staircase wall was applied poorly (just a bad visual look for the house), the shower head in the main bathroom downstairs was loose and seemed like it might fall off at any moment, the fan in the same bathroom needed to be cleaned. Note - if you are someone that prefers to have good bathroom counterspace in the actual bathroom, this isn't your house. We had to make some minor modifications to put our toiletries elsewhere down there. A bookcase or something near the bathroom would solve this. The floor down on the lower level is also very uneven so don’t be surprised when walking around as it feels like you have sea legs because it flexes up and down in areas when you walk on it. The hot tub was great for one time as we found it to have hair and other debris in it when we had the jets on. Scak started to gather on the edges of the hot tub – we realized the filter wasn’t clean. Would be great if they removed the rusted-out speakers on the deck and installed ones that looked better and worked. BBQ was clean and great to use! The property should have a perimeter walk done as there is garbage and other debris, broken downspouts laying on the ground around the outside of the house, exterior lights have cobwebs, the exterior side of the windows still have stickers on them, junk on the deck left of the hot tub etc. We still had a fun weekend there but probably wouldn’t stay at this house again as the nightly rate doesn’t truly match the house, only the view and location.

Stayed here over a nice sunny weekend in February. The view is really nice of the beach. The hot tub was great. Nice deck and fire pit. Access to the beach available but a bit sketchy path.

The house itself is very old and so many things were broken: the dishwasher, one of showers (so we had to use pliers), the ceiling was leaking, light coming out of the wall in one of the bunk beds. Mattresses on the bunks were very uncomfortable. There was no grill on the deck. Huge disappointment on that but I also didn’t rent the house so I didn’t look at what came with it. We asked for extra supplies like paper towels and garbage bags and never received anything. We ran out of dish soap too since the dishwasher was broken. I believe they offered to reimburse for those items we had to purchase though which was nice.

Overall still had a nice time but too many inconveniences due to the things above.

Such an incredible home! The décor was beautiful and inviting and the furnishings were modern and comfortable. The yard was beautifully maintained and there is nothing better than waking up to the smell of salt air and hydrangeas! I would highly recommend this home and this company to any of my family and friends looking for stunning Oregon Coast lodging.

The beach is super close! The walk is uphill and then down some stairs, but only took us about 5 minutes. My partner and I stayed in Meredith Lodging's home Boardwalk. It had everything we needed in the kitchen, plenty of extra bedding and the neighborhood was quiet and adorable!

Too bad I can't rate them 0. We rented a paid for vacation rental months in advance. We had family coming from across the country for a memorial service. Two weeks before our trip they cancelled our reservation. Now it is last minute and we have no where to stay. Update: The fine print on the rental agreement (which I doubt most read thoroughly) did state that suitable replacement would be made. But the replacement properties offered were over 50 miles away, which is more than an hours drive. Yes they did fully refund me. But 2 weeks is out it cost hundreds of dollars to find a suitable replacement.
-if you are renting from Meredith lodging, their policy could leave you without housing at the last minute.
