This would be a culinary destination on its own if you removed the fishing and location. Walter and his staff have the system very honed in, with the day broken into 4 segments of fishing outings, and meals before or after each session.

I specifically came to AK on this trip to catch a king salmon, on a spey rod, and Walter and one of his guides, John, had us into them within a couple hours of our arrival. My spey cast needed some work, however, and their instruction and adjustments also helped me be successful over the next couple days.

My wife is more novice in fly fishing and we setup in places where I could spey fish and she could cast with a single handed rod and more guidance. She did very well and also had the trip of a lifetime. A nice grayling was icing on the cake on our last evening.

I would recommend Riversong for anyone, from season fishermen to families traveling together. It was a top notch experience that crossed off a bucket list item for me, but I will be traveling back here for more in the future.

We flew with Rusts over to the Riversong lodge for a full day of fishing. Our guide was Hayden. AWESOME young man! He knew where all the good fishing spots were. Between my husband and myself we caught over 100 Salmon and a few trout. We were able to take 8 female Pink Salmon home. Hayden cleaned them, filleted them and vacuum sealed each fish in separate packages that make it easy when it's time to cook them. Rust's packaged them and kept them frozen for us until our flight. Both companies are top of the line. During our day of fishing, we took a break for lunch at the Riversong Lodge. I think the chef's name is Justin? Brisket was on the menu and I'm a vegetarian and Justin went out of his way to make a vegetarian dish just for me. They're VERY accommodating. Everyone was very helpful, professional, knowledgeable. It was the highlight of our week long experience in Alaska. I highly recommend it.

New Owners since we first stayed there 20 years ago and Walter and Lisa are every bit as warm and welcoming as the Dixons were. From float plane landing pick up to float plane departure, the staff was absolutely to p notch starting with the pick up by Gabe and Eli, the food prepared by Justin including superb baked goods and home made ice cream. Topped with Gabe putting us on King Salmon all three days, it is hard to find superlatives to justify the experience. Non stop action starting with Kings early in the year followed by Silvers later in the summer. We landed NUMBERS OF 20-30 pound Kings during our three day stay and had an equal or greater number hooked that didn't see being brought to the net in their future and released themselves on their own recognizance. This is a review of Rust's for organizing our trip last minute and for Riversong Lodge for giving us the most amazing day POSSIBLE!! I highly recommend both of these organizations.||||We had one day to enjoy Alaska and called Rust's the afternoon prior to see if they could organize anything for fishing. We did not have time to research and really had no idea what to expect. They picked us up at the hotel, we bought our licenses at the office and away we went on a gorgeous 35 minute float plane ride to our destination. The pilots were fun, shared info on the sites and answered questions (being my first float plane ride I was thoroughly impressed by the smooth landings on the river). Both flights were right on schedule and it was just a cool experience. Thank you, Rust's!||||We arrived at Riversong and were just blown away by how friendly and helpful the staff was and thought the property was just adorable! The staff hooked us up with everything we needed and John (our guide, our hero) explained how the day would go. And then he put us on fish ALL DAY long. He was truly invested in our success. It's clear he respects the environment and taught us SO much about the area and fish that we caught. He was very patient, cheerful and genuinely excited for us every time we pulled one in. It's been five days since we've returned and I can't stop telling everyone how much fun we had!||||On the side of my screen over here I can see that someone complained about the food. We had quite the opposite experience--we thought the food was amazing (and we are foodies). The chef was lovely and accommodated my food allergies. We had a nice bottle of white wine with our meal and took another one out on the boat with us for the afternoon. It came in handy after reeling in a 40 lb-er; wonderful to sit down with a big smile, a shaky arm, and a glass of wine. ||||Both Rust's and Riversong made everything happen for us with about 15 hours notice. Just two of us had the boat and our guide, John, to ourselves. We were beyond impressed. I could go on and on. I loved every second of that trip--thank you for a perfect day!!

My wife, 2 daughters and I had a great day of fly fishing. The conditions were not the greatest as it had been raining quite a bit and the water was way up but our guide, Casey, put us on large salmon first thing in the morning. We caught a mix of pink, humpys and silvers before we headed back for a great hot and hearty lunch. In the afternoon, we mixed it up with me still fly fishing and the rest using spinners. The 4 of us limited out on silvers in just 2.5 hours. I attribute that to our excellent guide Casey for getting us on the fish quickly and providing us with his expertise. Besides being an excellent guide, he was great to be around and worked his tail off helping finding the right flies and helping us land the "tanks" we caught.||||If I have anything negative it is that I think the owner should have given Casey a bigger boat for the trip since all 4 of us were fly fishing. Three of us did wade and get on the bank but due to the high water level, that was limited.||||All in all it was a great trip and next time, we will book it to stay overnight and fish multiple days so that we can take home more fish and also enjoy what looks to be great accommodations.

Our short time spent at Riversong lodge was OUTSTANDING ! Walter, Lisa and their crew went above and beyond to make our stay memorable... Ben our fishing guide was equally outstanding, He did every he could to help us catch a KING. Thank you guys. We'll be back.

Great trip! The fishing was excellent, the food was amazing and the staff made you feel at home. I couldn't have asked for a better vacation. The scenery was beautiful, very relaxing setting, and we all caught kings!
