Excellent tour. Fun flight from Kenai airport. In a DHC-2 BEAVER!!!! Which is my second favorite plane, behind the SR-71 Blackbird, which is an amazing plane, but can’t take you to a bear tour. The bears were cool too. But then we got to ride in the BEAVER again!!!

Just kidding, the bear tour was excellent as well. Our guide was a consummate professional, with ample experience and a lot of interesting hobbies. We boated around the silty rivers and saw 21 bears. There were fishes. There were bears eating fishes. There were hapless cubs. There were other DHC-2 beavers that landed while we were there, so I was not looking at the bears at that time. I got to sit in the front on the way back and chat with the pilot, which was fantastic.

Would recommend, if not for the bears, at least for the plane. It’s a good plane.

The bears are cool too.

We loved this tour. This gave us unique opportunity to check out brown bears in their natural habitat. We saw two mother bears with cubs and few adult lone bears swimming and fishing in lake. And there were many eagles flying around.

I have joined the Big River Lakes Bear Viewing Fly Out on July 31, 2024.
It has been such a great experience, seeing at least 14 bears inclunding 2 bear cubs.
I can only recommend doing this.

For the past several years, my husband and I have been visiting Alaska in the summer and the ONE stop we always make is in Soldotna/Kenai to go on the Flyout Fishing/Bear Viewing trip with River Rock Outdoors. This trip never disappoints!
First you board a plane for a beautiful trip flying over the Cook Inlet, then upon landing, you get in a boat and off you go. Today, everyone on the trip caught 3 Sockeye Salmon (our limit) and we saw at least 5 different bears, one with 3 cubs following closely behind her. Then our guide parked our boat in front of a beautiful waterfall where we took pictures before heading back for the return trip on the plane.
I cannot say enough about the kindness and professionalism shown to us by Jeremy, his wife and daughters over the years. They are a lovely family that we so look forward to seeing every summer.

It was windy when we took off, then it started raining and continued all day; but Jeremy and Ryan went out of their way to ensure that our day was always safe and forever unforgettable. We had a great time making priceless memories and we would specifically request these guys if we were to go back to Alaska again in the near future.
