A direct quote from my husband “omg this food is freakin amazing”. This place blew my mind. We’re new to the area and thought this sounded like a good option for our weekly date night and it did not disappoint! Our server had the same name as me so we kinda bonded over that and the food was to die for and you get plenty of it. We sat outside and enjoyed the gorgeous waterfront view. We agreed this is our new favorite restaurant . 20 stars guys!

We found this restaurant through a search, read previous reviews good and bad and decided we'd give it a try. Set in the middle of a marina off the TN river it's a two story build that looks like it possibly was an old fish house. It's small and quant and the atmosphere gives you a good old dive bar feeling. Our only negative is a large fan hanging from the ceiling covered in dust which wasn't pointed in our direction because nobody wants dust in their food. Hopefully that gets addressed and cleaned up. The overall atmosphere was very nice and the overall noise level allowed us to have a normal conversation. The small kitchen is putting out some great food. We started off with a shrimp and crab dip that was delicious. My wife went with the fish-and-chips and they allowed her to swap out the fries for a baked potato. I got the Swiss and Mushroom burger, both were really good. If you are a beer drinker, I highly recommend trying the blood orange beer. Our over all cost wasn't bad since we had an appetizer and drinks. If you are in the Florence AL area locate this restaurant and give it a try.

Fabulous little dining establishment located on the water. The coming and goings of the boats and patrons rushing in to get their fill of the fresh seafood and delightful spirits is just a bonus. The staff is well trained and they are more than happy to be there. The food was scrumptious from the first to the very last bite. We had the cosmopolitan martini while waiting for a table. I’d barely finished my drink when my text arrived that my table was ready. Then we had oysters on the half shell, hush puppies and crab claws and all were cooked and served perfectly by an attentive and friendly server. I also had a featured drink that was more than yummy with vodka, rum, triple sec, blue carasou pineapple and oj and I couldn’t even finish it , huge bang for twelve bucks. The entire meal was 50 bucks plus tip. Very affordable and worth every penny. I finally found the restrooms, they’re located outside near parking although a little odd it wasn’t inconvenient at all and they were clean. Great experience.

I had a really good experience at River Bottom! Definitely the place to go to in Florence!

It was very busy but we got in fairly quickly. You can sit outside and enjoy the river while you wait. The staff was very friendly and our server checked on us often. The mixed drinks were tasty and reasonably priced. We started with the alligator tail appetizer and it was delicious! Perfectly cooked and you get a good sized portion for an appetizer! For our entrees, I got the butterfly shrimp entree and my partner got the Shrimp Happens entree. Hug shrimp and a lot to eat! Very flavorful too!

Can't wait to come back when I'm in town again. A lot of people were getting the burgers and they looked great too!

This was my wife’s and I first time coming here and we were both not dissatisfied with them nor the amount of food that we got it was so much I couldn’t even finish mine we will definitely come back here we have found a new spot that we both love

They were very busy during our most recent visit, but everything was still smooth and completed in a timely manner. Food and service were both good. Along with good scenery while sitting outside for the meal. We will return in the future.

Great service! Drink service was a little slow, but Emily, our server was friendly and attentive. Food was just ok but we had fun! Bring quarters to feed the fish outside, or just feed them the hush puppies you're gonna wish you hadn't ordered.

Some of the most tender gator bites we've had! We're not sure how they accomplished getting them so tender, but they were good! If you don't like shredded cheese just know they garnish the top of the gator bites with cheese.

We enjoyed the oysters on the half shell. my wife had the steak flat - which was a steak sandwich on flatbread. She was taken away by the flavor. She opted for the potato salad for her side. It's a homemade potato salad with dill seed and other ingredients - we BOTH loved it. It was full of flavor.

I had the fish and chips. Now, in my mind I was thinking cod fish and beer battered fries. River Bottom's version is beer battered catfish with fries. Now, the saving grace for it not being cod fish was the homemade tartar sauce. The tartar sauce is worth riding home about. I, 100% of the time never eat it. The server suggested that she actually made it and so I tried it and I'm very glad I did. I liked it so much. I asked for a sample to bring home with me.

Everyone that approached our table seemed like they enjoyed their job. Our server was probably one of the happiest young ladies we had ever encountered. We were told when we arrived the weight may be 20 minutes or more. We were seated in 10. The atmosphere is what you would expect in a harbor grille. If you find yourself in Florence, Alabama, do yourself a favor.
