We had dinner here while visiting Fort Payne. The cheese sticks were a no go. Very narrow with little cheese, overcooked and no flavor. The pulled pork sandwiches were average. The Mac and cheese was delicious. The banana pudding was not good. The banana pudding seemed like it had been made days before with the cookies in it turned to mush and it just did not have a good flavor. The servers working were nice but they sat at a back bar area looking at their phones and eating. We had to wait for refills until she eventually came to the table with our food. Overall, it was decent. May or may not try it again. I did appreciate the scripture on our to go box.

Great experience and food. New storefront location in town and I’m sure that this place will continue to grow in popularity.

The pulled pork was full of flavor and the ribs were fantastic. The Cole slaw had a great flavor as well.

Great folks and food!

We just had lunch at the Rib Shak and it was great! My husband had a BBQ potato and I had loaded fries with the chopped chicken. Both were good and BIG portions. We didn't save room for dessert but upstairs was the cutest little ice cream counter. Street parking in the front is limited but right behind the restaurant is a large parking lot. The staff was super friendly too. We will definitely be back!

I wish I could’ve gotten pics of the food ….. but it was ALL amazing! Fried green tomatoes fried to perfection! Cheese sticks gooey and crispy! Loaded baked potatoe was mouthwatering! And the full rack of ribs (dry) was giving Memphis a run for their money! To top it off the butterfinger cake ?

My wife and I have been here twice, both times really good. We’ve had the half chicken, pork plate, loaded potato and nachos. They have lots of choices on the menu. Looking forward to our next visit. Good service and friendly people who appreciate your business. Highly recommended as an option for downtown dining in Fort Payne.

This little place is in a cool little town called Valley Head Alabama. I visited on the way through coming from Georgia. I love going to places that are new to me and off the beaten path. The atmosphere in this place reminds me of the small town I grew up in. Most people seemed to know each other and were really friendly and accommodating. The bbq was wonderful, and the staff was very friendly. If you ever get a chance to stop and get a meal here, you are in for a treat. I had the pulled pork sandwich and fries. Their bbq sauce that came with the sandwich was spot on. You will not be disappointed if you eat here.

We eat with them last night at Boom Days. It was absolutely the best barbecue nachos I have ever eaten in my life hands down. Excellent service and friendly staff as well. You can't go wrong with them?❤️

We visited while passing through Fort Payne. It’s a cute little hole in the wall bbq joint with a good location. Staff seemed friendly enougn too. No complaints on atmosphere, staff, or those perfect fried green tomatoes. The ribs were some of the worst I’ve ever eaten! Very tough, greasy, and offensively smoky. Inedible without a bit of salt and sauce. They tasted as if they’d been drowned in liquid smoke. 7 hours later, I’m still burping up smoke. It’s like I’ve swallowed a burned hickory chip from a charcoal grill. Had about 3/4 of my half rack left and left it there. No to go box needed! Baked beans were also cooked to death and dried out. No thanks on the untoasted piece of cheap white bread slapped on the side. A good piece of toasted buttered Texas toast would’ve been so much better! I had a fleeting thought that it was probably not a good sign when the road construction crew just outside weren’t in here for lunch. I’m sad I wasted my money here for indigestion that tastes like I swallowed a forest fire.
