Where do I even begin? We came to fish, and fish we did! Garret was our guide all 3 days. The most polite and knowledgeable young man. Knew the water and got us into fish everyday. The food - amazing. The service - amazing. The staff - went above and beyond everyday to make us comfortable. The scenery didn’t even look real - that’s how beautiful it was. Cabins were perfect and we slept great. We even flew in a helicopter for an afternoon of fishing a different area. We are already planning on going back next year. Worth every penny!!!

I would give it more than 5 stars if I could. Redoubt Mountain Lodge was the highlight of our three week Alaska adventure. We are so happy we stayed at RML. First class of first class. Food was amazing (best Halibut I’ve ever had). Thank you Sasha! Accommodations were wonderful and decorated perfectly. Finally they give you a guide for everyday you are there. Shera was amazing. We did sightseeing, hiked, kayaked, fished, fished some more, hiked some more and even my wife did the polar plunge with her. Shera wasn’t going to allow us any downtime until the evening (most of the time). So much fun. This was a once of a lifetime experience that we certainly hope we can come back for more lifetime adventures. Awesome way to see Lake Clark National Park.

Absolutely phenomenal experience. I can’t say enough good things about them. From initial booking to saying goodbyes, the process is flawless. All of the staff is extremely knowledgeable and well trained to accommodate almost any desire you can come up with. All with a big smile on their face and genuine interest in your well being. The food is some of the best we’ve had in all our travels. It alone is a noteworthy experience, curated with local ingredients and never duplicated during your stay. The guides are so dialed in and cover such a wide range of skill sets you really can’t trip them up even if you try. From taking a glacier plunge to bear viewing, fishing galore, foraging, hiking, heli-trips, river floats, even board games on rainy days…they absolutely crush it every single day. I’ve never experienced anything as well rounded as this place.

Amazing place for fishing, bears, scenery! Guides are outstanding - we were lucky to get Trevor. Raft and fish trip was just memorable! Food is wonderful, cedar hot tub, it's all great. We're back home now grilling the catch and enjoying the memories.

Such a great place. Staff are fun and engaging, food is five star and location is stunning. Spent 3 full days fishing with Garrett. I live in North Carolina and routinely fish the southeastern coast. In NC, I am know as the worlds worst fisherman. At RML, I boarder on being the world's best fisherman. Sockeye, Lake trout and Dolly Varden. Planning to bring family next July.

I went here for a day trip and was not disappointed. The staff at the lodge were fantastic, very knowledgeable and made great food. The boat ride and bear viewing was good, a few bears and the staff kept up with each other if there was something going on somewhere else on the water.

Words can’t describe this experience! My wife and I were blessed with the experience of a lifetime on a day trip for bear viewing at RML. We visited in mid September and spent a day with Holly on the water. The number of bears feeding on salmon was mind blowing! I honestly lost count at around 30! Seeing so many grizzlies living happily in such close proximity is an experience that you can’t put into words. The lodge was absolutely amazing! The staff were the most genuine life loving people I have ever met. Sasha’s lunch was the best meal we had on our whole trip! The scenery and the wildlife is second to none and the people who make it all possible are incredible. Paradise does exist and we found it at RML! If you’re considering a trip here stop and just book it. There’s no way you can top it!

We flew in just for the day, and did Bear Viewing. It lived up to our expectations and then some. Everyone loved Brooke, our guide, whose love of bears is genuine and deep. She brought us to see Celia, a brown bear who dives for fish. (Brooke let us think Celia was catching live fish, but close inspection of our photos led us to later realize she was bringing up what fishermen had cast off.) We also saw bears Brooke recognized as "The Brothers", and "Not Celia". We did get to see live fish caught on the surface by an unnamed bear. One bear dug for about an hour at the site of a freshly-destroyed beaver lodge, looking for food. The bears pay no more attention to the boats on the lake than we pay to clouds overhead.

We had salmon for lunch; it had a very tasty glaze. Everyone was glad for the chance to warm up before heading back out on the lake. Which brings me to my only advice - however warm you think you need to dress, bring something extra you can put on. And wear two layers on your legs. You're going to be sitting still in a cold environment for hours. I was great at first, but chilled to the bone by the end of the day!

Tipping is something I am uncomfortable with. Should I? How much? How much do other people tip? When should I do it? My perfect environment is Iceland, where tipping is not done - it's considered insulting there. But just in case you're like me, I'll share that we (a party of 5) tipped Brooke $100 - but only because we thought she did an amazing job. IMO it's not something that should be automatic or just expected.
