The Red Roof Inn was very clean with bright white linen, towels, etc. I have no complaints about the cleanliness or sanitation of this motel. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Fresh towels were delivered and trash was emptied daily. None of my personal belongings were disturbed despite not being present when my room was entered. I was allowed to have my dog there, and there were no issues there. The first pet is free! The only downsides were as the location is downtown, I noticed quite a few transients hanging about from time to time. Nobody bothered however, and they were friendly. Another downside is the “cable” television. I had this provider (Fios) when I lived locally, and it is the absolute worst cable provider. Literally, 4 out of every 5 channels are infomercials or advertisements. If you plan on being there more than a night, I suggest bringing an iPad or laptop for entertainment as the motel does have free WiFi. I plan to stay here in the future.

This was my first time staying at a Red Roof Inn, and I was pleasantly surprised. You definitely get what you pay for here. It's right next to a McDonald's, but having lived in Suffolk until recently, I have to say this particular McDonald's isn’t very good.

The view was terrible—it was literally just a concrete wall. However, if you walk outside to the front on the other side, you can see the river. The amenities were as described on Priceline. The bed was comfy and clean, and the TV worked. The microwave plate was the wrong size and didn't spin, but the microwave itself still worked fine.

The check-in staff were very friendly too. Overall, I'd rate this Red Roof Inn location a solid 6.5 out of 10.

This place smelled like weed and cigarettes. the floor in the hallways were disgusting. the floors in the rooms were slippery with some sort of substance. there was hair and stains on the linens. disgusting place. Left after an hour to stay elsewhere. The smell was triggering my asthma.

Well, the sheets were clean and the guy that checked us in was wearing a clean t-shirt. Nothing else good to say about this place. The room was kind of dirty. Couldn’t sit in the chair (see picture). No soap in the bathroom dispensers. Would not recommend.

This is an older hotel but it is very clean and smells clean. We were in Suffolk, VA for work at first stayed at the Hampton Inn. The Hampton was smelly and the bed was so uncomfortable that even when you slept you woke up tired and the breakfast was not edible. It was an older hotel that tried to act and charge like a new one.
Then we tried the RedRoof in Suffolk. Much much much cleaner. The bed is very very comfy. (I have a bad back so when I can get a good sleep is great.) no breakfast but we travel a lot for work and eat in our room anyway so that is not an issue. The staff is wonderful. Everyone is kind and helpful. I stay at the hotel a lot on the computer and they are always cleaning( inside and out). Even the elevator was cleaner than the Hampton Inn. Have stayed twice and gave us great rates and so worth it. If we are back here working or on vacation we will stay here.

Everytime we stay here the experience is always great,the owner and his wife are always very nice,we haven't had any issues when staying here besides 1 or 2 maintenance issues which they were very quick to resolve,the hotel is always clean always smells nice

Shopping carts scattered in water, can be difficult to get to depending on your arrival direction. You can cut through the Walgreens parking lot, and this makes it somewhat easier as opposed to taking the Mainstreet route. Benefits: You are next to Walgreens and McDonald's and within food delivery.
