I give them zero stars. I booked through booking.com and the rooms appeared to look clean and pretty decent. However upon arrival, there were ALL kinds of homeless people in the parking lot, including several of them with an encampment set at the end of the fenced in lot. When I booked my card was ran and taken out of my account. When checking in I was told I needed to pay. Finally was able to figure it out with no apology. Upon checking in the room appeared clean but floors were sticky and you could see dirty finger smudges everywhere, including the headboard to the bed. The lamps were all broken and disheveled, tagging on the night stand and the window was broken. They gave us less than a half a roll of toilet paper and there was NO soap to wash our hands. My daughter then smashed and killed multiple cockroaches. We ended up staying, only for the fact I could not get my money back and had no where else to stay. They also said free breakfast and showed pictures of their breakfast spread. None of this was provided. A bowl of apples and some coffee. Don’t let the replies from the owners fool you. No one there seemed to care about cleanliness or safety of the patrons. There were people in and out of this establishment all hours of the night (after 11:30pm) that looked criminal and on drugs, with the front desk watching them go back and fourth. He even seemed to be fraternizing with them. This establishment needs to seriously investigate into this location. It wouldn’t allow me to post pictures but I definitely have some of the cockroaches and all the broken stuff. If you have small kids or a woman that’s traveling alone, DO NOT STAY HERE!! I feel like I should get a full refund for my stay. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

Positive: "" Negative: I'm pretty sure there were drug dealers in the room next door, I know outside of my window, and across the street. There was no breakfast, and no coffee because no cups. I was afraid to leave my 16 year old by himself, not something that is normal.

This ā€œhotelā€ is disgusting. It has a gross scent, the rooms are dirty, the outside of the place is very ran down and sketchy feeling. The bed sheets have stains, there was hair in the bed. The bathroom is dirty. I would absolutely not stay here again.

I booked my reservation on booking.com. The photos didn’t look anything like the property. Upon pulling into the parking lot there were an abundance of people in and around the parking lot and I didn’t feel safe even walking into the lobby. When I walked into the lobby bad vibes all the way around. I canceled my reservation immediately. After reviewing the horrible reviews I really hope the owner of this establishment will take a deeper look into what’s really going on at their place of business. Safety of your guests should be top priority for you.

I stayed here last weekend when I came to Yakima to attend a Celebration of Life. Being a woman alone & without my car, I am so very happy that I chose Red Lion in Yakima! The free transportation from the airport was really helped. I tried to give the driver Carlos a tip but he wouldn't take it. Maria at the front desk was so caring & thoughtful. My room was clean & provided with all that I needed. Adam was the driver for my trip back to the airport when I left. He was also a super nice & kind person. I've stayed at several hotels that have professional employees but employees at Red Lion were both professional & sincerely kind.

Unfortunately I am now reading the reviews after staying here. This was hands down the worst ā€œhotelā€ I’ve ever stayed at. Someone in the reviews compared it to an SRO and that couldn’t describe it more perfectly. The homeless coming and going, my neighbour had visitors all hours of the night and some of them ended up knocking on my door by mistake. The weird sign in the lobby warning of said visitors. My ground floor window didn’t lock and could easily open from outside so I had to use my hiking stick to wedge in between to ensure no one climbed in. The room itself was dirty and run down, only saving grace was I didn’t see the roaches…no doubt they were there though. I contemplated packing up and heading for anywhere else but it was late and I had been driving all day. I gave it 1 star because google doesn’t let you give 0.

Absolutely the worst place I have ever stayed.||Car park has homeless and people sleeping in their cars. Homeless camp at the end of the road. Garage over the road full of people hanging around too.||Bedding and towels were clean, but most other surfaces had stains on them. Very strong food smells came into the room through out the night, no idea where from as there was no food or cooking facilities here.||A couple of people who were not staying here tried to walk in with me, but were moved on by security. Fortunately the security guy was in attendance all night to keep some people away.||One of the ladies who had all her worldly possessions with her when she left in the morning spoke to me as I was walking to my car, its fair to say that I believe she had spent the night "working" in the hotel.... ( I have to be diplomatic with my words to get the review through, my hotel.com review took 6 goes to be approved) she asked me why I was staying there, and told me that Yakima is the gates to hell.||Do not stay here, it should not be advertised as a hotel for holidaying/travelling people because that is not what it is. there is 1 positive review on here but it must have been written by someone who works there as there's no way its genuine. The photos also do not represent this place.||I can not say strongly enough - GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I booked a room here through Expedia for Saturday 8/31 of Labor day weekend. Many other hotels were full, but I thought the Red Lion Brand could be counted on as at least a decent hotel. Wrong! When I pulled into the parking lot there were at least 15 people milling around various parts of the parking lot, some openly doing drugs. 1 guy peeing in the parking strip. 1 lady drinking from a hose connected to the building. Most looked high, homeless and opportunistic. I had visions of walking out the next morning to find my truck up on blocks and no sign of my 2 bicycles which were securely locked to it. The 2 east indian guys behind the counter seemed indifferent to all the goings on at their hotel. I told them I didn't feel safe staying there and asked for a refund. They told me they would contact Expedia to approve it but that I had to initiate the refund process with Expedia, not them. Expedia said "after multiple tries, we weren't able to obtain an approval from the property manager, regarding your refund request". They offered me $25 in one key cash "as a gesture of goodwill". So now I'm out the hotel rate, -$25 for a room I never stayed in. No more Red Lion or Expedia. I'll save the review of Expedia's "customer service" for later.
