Red Lion Inn permanently Closed - Port Orchard, Washington

I booked a room for my disabled parents who are in their 80s. The Hotel was being renovated so they thought nothing of the bag on the ceiling in their room. A day after they got home they were charged for tampering with the smoke detector. My dad called the hotel to find out what was up and they said there was a bag over the smoke detector so they must have done it and been smoking. He explained they've never smoked and couldn't possibly reach it and that he though it was something they were working on and didn't even realize it was over the smoke detector. He wanted the charge removed. He was told they would work on it. The staff, desk clerk, and manager were all great, but the owner said it couldn't be refunded and my dad could sue him. Unbelievable that the owner of the hotel would take advantage of the elderly, let alone a veteran and not care even though his hotel was and still is being renovated. The credit card company tried but said without pictures they couldn't do anything. Do Not go to this hotel, the owner takes advantage of elderly people and refuses to be reasonable when it was clearly not them that put the bag on the ceiling. Do not give this hotel your business!

The fan rattled in the bathroom. No cream cheese for bagels. Other then the fan, and no cream cheese for bagels; Everything was great. The TV was good size to watch, comfortable bed, clean bed, well monitored so not a lot of rif-raf. The A/C and heating worked great, breakfast was good. The ladies serving are wonderful. Tell the owner to please get cream cheese for bagels. I will be back for my future work-cations. Thanks. 208

This place gave us a 3 day reservation. Then kicked us out the next day saying we had no reservation. After proving we did they said sorry we reserved room under another booking. So we said give us another room then. They said hotel is full, no rooms. They tried hitting our companies credit cards over and over and were double booking rooms and kicking people out frivolously. We weren't the only ones. Quite the money racket going there. I wonder just how much they have gotten away with. I had to give it one star but deserves less than none

We have stayed here many times in the past.
Never had anything to say negative till our most recent stay on 10/15 and 10/16/2024.
We noticed the name of the hotel changed to the Red Lion Inn and Suites.
Was advised at check in on 10/15 at approximately at 5:30 pm, they had no laundry service, no big deal.
Went to get a bite to eat after traveling via car for 12 hours.
On 10/16/24 at 8:45 AM went to take care of the business for coming to this town, state.
Mid morning we realized that we didn't need to stay 2 more nights, so I spoke with a desk clerk on the 16th and advised her that we would me checking out in the morning, kindly cancel the 3rd night. Clerk stated she would check with her manager.
Arrived back home on 10/17/24 at 3:45 pm, Home is in California.
On 10/18 I noticed they charged my credit card for the third night.
10/22 I called and spoke with a clerk Danica and was advised that the manager must have declined my request. That is why I didn't see a refund for the night of 10/17, Danica had no response to reach out to the manager, stated she looked at the notes on file, seeing that I advised the clerk on 10/16 that we would be checking out early at 4:30 am on 10/17 and not 10/18/24.
Will never stay there again!!

I actually like the Red Lion Inn and their staff so it pains me to write this review. I have been helping a Gulf War Navy Veteran who has had recent issues with homelessness. I have paid for many nights to help my friend out.
The staff knows me and I have always been a respectful client and have spent over $3000 at their property. We have never had wild parties or have been loud or damaged property, etc. However, one day I wanted to extend our stay by one day and was told by the front desk that there were no reservations for that room and that no one would be checking in that day I was unfortunately detained at work and wasn't able to access my phone and/or the internet to extend my reservation until 2pm that day . Unfortunately, a situation between the manager and my friend had escalated. All that needed to happen was for all involved to rationally solve the problem but that (unfortunately) didn't happen. The new resevation was paid. However, my friend ended up being asked to leave. I was not present and have NEVER been rude or disrespectful to any of the staff. In spite of this..... I was also banned from the property even though I was not present during the conflict. I have ALWAYS paid and been respectful..... AND I was at work when all of this happenned! I did absolutely NOTHING wrong. I paid through Expedia and was unable to get a refund because Expedia has a policy that you cant cancel a reservation within 2 hours of the check in time. When I asked Red Lion for a refund they said they were not able to. Basically, Red Lion KEPT MY PAYMENT for a reservation that they did not honor. Somehow, in this scenario I was banned even though I was not even present for the disagreement or did anything remotely worthy of being banned from their property. GREAT JOB RED LION! !! Enjoy the free money!

The room itself was clean and nice but it has bed bugs. The rooms clearly have not been updated since the 80s/90s and the wall paper in the bathroom, around the shower especially, are yellowed, starting to peel off, and showing their age. The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything going on in the rooms next to you. The amenities are nice but the computers weren't working and one of the two massage chairs was broken. The breakfast bar has a decent selection and the folks that work here are kind and professional. If not for the bedbugs, this would have been a 4/5 for me but that's a huge issue that cannot be overlooked. Once that is addressed, it's overall a cute hotel that I would recommend.

We had wonderful experience at this location. Good breakfast options for vegetarians too. Massage chairs are great. Rooms are a bit old, but clean. Can have more light in toilet, it was very dim, but overall very good experience.

The wife found a hotel in Port Orchard, that is close to many things. We chose this hotel specifically for the massage chair in the lobby area. I work as a landscaper and the massage chair is a godsend after a long day. We usually stay 1-3 nights and the staff and location have suited our stays. We have not had a complaint since first staying here.
