Okay...this review is long over-due. However, when my husband and I were here, trip advisor was not as prevalent. I left the review in the book, so an online review is well deserved after all of these years.||In 2003, my then-boyfriend asked me if I wanted to go to Alaska after we watched a movie featuring the 49th state. We literally counted up his 'coin' savings and booked our trip. We were in Alaska, adventuring in the Kenai peninsula, for eight days. We had been picked up from Anchorage from a friend who had just moved to Soldotna. They dropped as at the Kenai airport to get our rental car. We have traveled all over the United States, but Alaska was and still is our favorite trip.||We stayed at a horrible little B&B for four days, then went on to the Little Red Cabin for the last four days of our trip. Here we are, 18 years later, and we both still talk about it.||I remember our hosts, John and Jacquie. They were recently married, and we were one of their first set of guests. They were wonderful.||As I see some people talk about disappointment with this stay, there is no way that their heart of hospitality wavered. We wish we would have stayed there the entire time. ||When we arrived, it was very late, as these two midwesterns were using every bit of Alaskan summer daylight to explore. The porch light was on, and there was smoked salmon in the fridge. We were not sure if it was for supper (at 2 am!!) or breakfast. There was fruit, bagels, cream cheese, a little thing of milk, cereal, coffee, etc. ||I remember the cabin and hospitality so well, because it was the perfect landing spot. We were easily able to travel to Homer for one day, Seward the next--with every other excursion in between.||The cabin had a loft bedroom, which was great to store our luggage underneath. We both thought the shower was amazing and built extra special. It was a very small space, but much larger than what a hotel room would be. The bed was comfortable, the space was nice. ||The entire property was beautiful. The dogs were crazy good, following us, greeting us, accompanying us every trek we took, which we loved.||John & Jacquie asked us the last night of our stay if we wanted to go halibut fishing early the next morning. It is our greatest regret. We really should have moved our flight. It was the following evening, but we had to return the rental car, catch our ride to Anchorage....yadi, yadi, yadi. We should have made it happen. They were the most gracious hosts we have ever had.||I cannot say enough niceties about the hosts, their property, their little cabin, and the overall experience. We stayed in the cabin with the glassed in porch, and we would absolutely do it again. We've been married nearly 17 years, and we talk of the day we go back with our teenage sons!

I stayed in four different accommodations on my five day driving trip through the Kenai penninsula and this was my favorite. Would have been happy staying here a week rather than just a night. John and Jackie were gracious hosts (as were their two labs) and the little cabin was a perfect respite. The annex cabin was tastfully decorated (my favorte color blue), the mini-fridge well stocked with a large variety of breakfast items. Limited TV but lot's of DVDs. THey do indeed have a little piece of heaven up on a hill. Their property has horses, a barn, and their own house sits a top the hill. Took a walk on roads nearby.... just lovely and peaceful,

I can't say enough good about John and Jacque's hospitality and the accommodations! This is a very quiet, clean, comfortable, beautiful place to stay. As you drive in, you see a picturesque horse barn, two quant cabins, and up further John and jacque's house. We were greeted with smiles and open arms. The cabin was just as cute on the inside as the outside. The spacious cabin we stayed in had a full kitchen (stocked with food to make your own breakfast), a living room, bedroom, bathroom and porch. There was also a grill and picnic table for use. The price was unbeatable as was our overall stay. We would definitely stay here again and make sure our family and friends fit this into their itineraries. A definite 5+++!

Great B & B and fantastic hosts! John and Jackie we great and took us horse back riding. The cabin was clean and stocked with all the food we could want and the location had fantastic views of the mountains in the distance. We will stay with them again the next time we are in Alaska!

Haven't been back to Alaska since living in Anchorage in the late 80's. The Red Cabin reminded me of the good things from that time. Friendly but not intrusive hosts, rural farm-like setting and the cabin comfortably out-fitted. Planned on staying one night and when my wife and I met the hosts and saw the accommodations extended the stay an extra night. If you like being away from the hustle and bustle and the run of the mill hotel/motels in the Kenai area, book this place - you won't be sorry.

This cabin was clean and well stocked with good breakfast food. The hosts, John & Jackie, were very welcoming and made our trip extra special. Their home is on a beautiful piece of land and is very quiet out there. Their three dogs are very friendly as well. We will be sure to stay here again on our next visit to the area.

Red Cabin B&B is a quiet respite after many days of touring. If you want to have a nice quiet day to recoup from all the touristy attractions while on the western half of Kenai Peninsula, Red Cabin B&B is a good choice. It was remote, in a backcountry neighborhood setting. John and Jackie are kind, friendly and helpful hosts, who live up the hill from the cabins. They are what I call “genuine good stock”. The have a horse barn and grazing land. This is a working property. Within your view, you will see John’s equipment. We stayed in the smaller bungalow, which has a nice porch for sitting and just soaking in the trees. The cabin has a lot of windows for daylighting and cross breeze. The small cabin is really tiny. I had booked the larger cabin online as it said it was available, but they had asked quickly if I could switch to the smaller one, and I agreed as we were running out of options. There isn’t any room to place big luggage, and the bed is placed against the wall so that there can be about a 20 SQF foot area to walk passed the sofa. You will need to perform toiletry in the kitchen sink since there isn't one in the bathroom. The groceries provided were fine for bagels, OJ and Coffee, and eggs and breakfast meats. Although I had read from other viewers that there wasn’t a place to cook other than a microwave in the small cabin, it didn’t register with me, and I am not talented enough to cook eggs in the microwave. I peaked into the larger cabin and it has a real kitchen and bath, it looked fine and homey. The Wi-Fi from the house is sufficient to do some Internet work, but it is slow. A decent flat screen TV is provided, and there is a blow dryer. Decor is not elaborate or updated, but it does have a not much fuss homey feel and it was clean.

I stayed there this past summer..first experience, but definitely NOT my last! I reside in Anchorage, and by the recommendation from a fishing buddy, I stayed there with another fishing buddy while we dip-netted & fished for halibut in between those times. The owners are extremely nice christian people and really go that extra couple of miles to see that you are comfortable and cozy while you're in their cabins. They even helped us during a slow time of fishing by taking us out themselves! Had a Great time with fantastic people! Would go again? In a heartbeat!
