Rainbow River Lodge was hands down the greatest place to experience the amazing fishing that Alaska has to offer. The lodging services from the rooms to the food offer everything you could need to the extremely experienced pilots and guides makes this place an incredible opportunity! The staff were incredibly knowledgeable, patient and extremely friendly! Absolutely recommend these folks!

Fishing and staying at The Rainbow River Lodge was an amazing experience. The fishing guides snd bush pilots are all top notch. Staying at this lodge is a perfect way to experience the Alaskan wilderness. Chris and the entire staff do a great job to make sure you have an adventure of a lifetime. The food is great. The cabins are comfortable. You can tell the entire staff love what they do. They are all sincerely friendly and all around great people.

I would give Rainbow River Lodge 6 stars if I could. The most competent pilot crew I have ever been around. The guides are both personable and knowledgeable of all the rivers they fish. The lodge, food, and staff are all first class. I could not recommend RRL any higher. Thanks for the fantastic week!

A Hallmark Week at Rainbow River Lodge

Just a few days ago, we departed Rainbow River Lodge, leaving behind what can only be described as the best week of our lives. We arrived as clients, but we left feeling like part of a new, extended family.

From the moment we set foot on the property, we were embraced by the warmest and friendliest people, each one greeting us with a smile that was as genuine as it was welcoming. Their infectious enthusiasm and joy remained constant throughout our stay, making every moment special.

While we originally came to Rainbow River for its renowned fishing, we left with so much more—an experience that surpassed anything we could have imagined. The guides were nothing short of extraordinary, the lodge’s service was impeccable, and the meals were of five-star quality. It’s hard to fathom how they could possibly improve upon the perfection we encountered.

Each day began with Beaver flights, Jet boat rides, and rafting adventures, setting the stage for encounters with bears by the water, hearty laughter, and stories that will last a lifetime. River lunches paired with world-class soup, topped off with a glass of Cabernet or Chardonnay, made us realize that life simply doesn’t get better than this.

To Chris, Chad, and the entire Lodge Family, we miss you all already and eagerly look forward to the day we can return.

It has to be tough to have a business where all the employees need to be at their best all day, every day. Rainbow River Lodge found the way. Drop the outside world, the lower 48, your job, your worries and spend a week with these fine folks. Take a dip in the hot tub while watching the stars. Spend the day catching epic fish and then enjoy a gourmet dinner. Coffee to your cabin every morning, check. How about a few minutes in a wood fed sauna, check. Enjoy some acoustic guitar after dinner, check. Tough business to be perfect in but they get damn close. You will have a great experience.

Me and 7 of my buddies do a week long fly fishing trip every year. We’ve been to some great areas of the country in past years. This year we all decided to go to Alaska. After doing some research we decided to do Rainbow River Lodge. Several reason for this, first and foremost we wanted a dedicated fly out lodge. Being able to fly out every day to different rivers in AK was very important. Second was location. Being near Iliamna and fishing for big rainbows was our goal. And third was reputation. If we were going to Alaska we wanted to make sure we went with a highly reputable lodge. Rainbow River Lodge, did NOT disappoint. Chad, Chris and all of the staff were top notch. They all worked extremely hard to make sure everyone had a great time. Pilots were fantastic, hospitality staff were all top notch, guides were all knowledgeable and great to work with (especially Charlie and Dan, although every single one of them were fantastic), and the food was five star. I do not have one bad thing to say about any of them. We arrived as strangers but were quickly accepted as friends and left as family. I would not hesitate to highly recommend Rainbow River Lodge to anyone thinking of doing a AK fly fishing adventure and I will DEFINITELY be returning. Thank you so much to every single staff member who made this trip one that I will never forget!!!!!

I am not an outdoorsy female but love to fly fish so I came with my husband. Oh my, am I glad I did. The beauty of Alaska and this full service resort felt like my home away from home. The staff are all so kind and very attentive. The food is five star and the lodge is very comfortable and clean.
If you want an exciting adventure with the help of very knowledgable staff. Sign yourself up. You won’t be sorry

Awesome experience! From the lodge to the cabins to the rivers, everything was top notch! The food was incredible including a packed lunch on the river. The guides were some of the best I’ve had and your experience level at flyfishing doesn’t matter, they get you on big fish!!
