Knowing that this hotel is primarily for oil employees, we weren't sure what to expect. We definitely felt a bit out of place - family with two daughters (12 and 15) - tourists were few there, but I think that is to be expected. They are catering for workers on 12hr shifts and provide a buffet meal that is included in the rate, as well as snacks and lunches to go. Rooms were clean and comfortable, and a definite improvement over Coldfoot Camp the night before

We had a great time here. The food is awesome and is included in the room price. Rooms were small but comfy for the traveler. There is no alcohol served here and guests are not allowed to bring any in. I think that is very reasonable. The staff and other guests are polite and interesting to talk to since they are mostly working in the oil fields and literally live here. The bed was nice and they had TV in the room. There are areas in the hotel to play pool or just relax. But the food is the nice thing. Hot and cold meals in great variety. Fruit and vegetables, fried, burgers, steaks, seafood. You gotta keep those oil workers and tourists happy. Just watch out for bears around here, they can be in the parking lot.

Stayed here a number of times while we had crews working on the slope during the winter. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Staff were very friendly and food was amazing. Only downside for me and coworkers was we had our meetings in the dining room at night and we ate too much pastries and pie topped with ice cream.

A group of four drove the Dalton Highway to Prudhoe Bay in late August 2017. We didn't plan to spend the night there, but got weathered in and had no choice. Turned out to be a great, fun experience thanks in large part to the very helpful staff at the hotel. The rooms were basic, but clean. And the bath facilities were very clean. Patrons were required to wear booties or remove their shoes since it was very sloppy outside. This kept things clean inside. Lastly, the food was available buffet style for all three meals. It was fresh, well prepared, and tasty. Very interesting experience that all of us thoroughly enjoyed!

I drove up there in the summer of 2015. The Dalton highway is amazing. Very surreal to go from pristine Alaska wilderness for miles upon miles to an oil town. The hotel was a blessing though. I planned to sleep in my jeep that night. It’s definitely what you expect but it’s worth it.

Joe at front desk is outstanding. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Price includes 3 meals a day which the chefs do a great job at putting together a varied delicious meal everytime. The rooms are nice and clean. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because the double bed would have been fine for a single person, but it bowed in the center, so it was not comfortable for the two of us. I would still stay here again in a heartbeat. Staff is great and the place is very clean

This hotel is primarily for oil employees and is therefore the basic accommodation they need. Tourists have to fit into this environment but, having driven the Dalton Highway playing with the truckers we chose this hotel as the appropriate to end this experience. We chose it as part of the experience and were happy that it met our requirements. The food was plentiful and good. It is typical American catering food, but you couldn't really expect more. They are catering for workers on 12hr shifts and therefore provide a buffet meal that accommodates this. All food was included in the price. Staff were friendly and we enjoyed the hotel as part of the overall Dalton Highway experience.

I spent five years working on the 'Slope, and most of the time I stayed here. It's the classic "man camp" style facility you'll find in many of the regions where one would go to punch holes in the ground to get oil. The food is good, the rooms are spartan, with a few ensuite bathrooms, and is in need of an upgrade. Convenient plug-ins are available for vehicle block heaters on a catch as can basis, and don't use the reserved spots. Guests get a little testy!
