We have stayed at the Prairie House twice now and have loved every minute! The house is beautifully appointed and feels like a home rather than a rental. The owners are amazing--they showed us around the beautiful property, were so accommodating, and really made us feel at home. The house has everything you'd ever need and more, and so much fun stuff to do that we could have never left! We loved playing pool and ping pong, the kids LOVE the toy nook under the stairs and the huge assortment of fun toys to play with, we had so much fun playing games and putting together a big jigsaw puzzle, and we loved playing the amazing grand piano. And that's just inside! The property is GORGEOUS--we went canoeing, kayaking, paddle boating, hiking on the trails, and just sat on the screened in porch and deck and enjoyed the peaceful sounds of birds and beautiful star gazing at night. We loved our stay and will surely be back again soon!

Overall the property was very clean, and the owners were always accessible and very friendly. The house is in the 'middle of nowhere', so that is something to consider, but if you want peace, relaxation, a nice yard, and plenty of space, it's a great place to stay. We enjoyed every minute of it. Likely to return next year !!

Great big house, stocked with all necessary amenities. Nice vacation place. Pool/ping pong table. Fire place with supplied wood. Toys for younger children. Secluded and peaceful on Lake Sinissippi.

Now in what we think might be our 10th year of PH vacations, it lives up to the anticipatory hype every time - thanks for deck sunsets, porch mornings, boat adventures, yard sports, hammock naps, neighborhood runs, epic meal prep potential, evening movie viewings (this year, classic Jack Black films), and in general, room to sprawl, giggle, shout, and breathe. It remains, as ever, as my brother has frequently proclaimed, ‘’the best week of the year!”
