Great staff and a cool boat. Great way to see glacier regardless of what the weather is. Top deck is nice to sit outside, even in the rain it was still fun. The waterfalls were beautiful, as was the glacier. On a cloudy day it looks so much more blue!

What a great cruise! The crew were very friendly and provided ample information throughout the one hour cruise. They made sure that we got carious views of the glacier. The lower deck is heated with seating and the upper deck is open air. I went on an extremely rainy day so the crew made sure people went up to the upper deck only when the views were nice. They also took us super close to a waterfall and we all enjoyed the thrills!
Note: in order to get on the boat, you need to het physical tickets from the gift shop. The Google maps location for Portage Glacier Cruise will take you to the gift and then you need drive less than a mile for the boarding area.

So, I've been here all my life, and I've never been on a glacier cruise. This was my first time, and it's such a relaxing tour. Our guide was excellent and answered a lot of questions other people had and was genuinely enthusiastic about the whole thing.
It started to rain a bit, and it wasn't too cold as i was told, but definitely need a warm coat if you want to be on the top deck.
I think an hour is the perfect time and for the price, it was worth it. Now i really want to go on other glacier cruises (maybe those radio ads were actually onto something.)

A wonderful cruise to see the scenery and get up close to a glacier. It was a great day trip from Anchorage. A national parks range gave interesting information about the lake and park. At 1 hour it was a great length with our 1 year old.

This cruise was absolutely amazing.

1. You can buy tickets online, or at the visitor center. The best part is, you can just show up at the boat, and buy tickets on the boat as well.

So if this is a last-minute option for you, just show up during their departure times, and you can buy a ticket on the boat.

2. The boat captain, She was absolutely amazing!! They also had folks from the national Park service on board to explain a lot of things to us.
This is probably one of the most epic things to do if you’re in Alaska.
I would highly recommend doing it, especially since the glacier continues to melt over time!

It's a must. The views are breathtaking and other worldly. We did the 8.5 hours trip which included lunch and beverages. It takes you right by the glaciers and you get to see a lot of aquatic life.

First glacier seen up close. The glacier silt is incredible and makes the water look like grey milk.

Amazing to get up close to the glacier to better understand its magnitude. Park ranger on board providing information about the area during the cruise was very appreciated. It was beautiful, easy drive from Anchorage.
