Beautiful place to visit. Gets pretty busy on the walking path during spring and summer. Lots of bicyclists, roller blading, and big groups who take up the whole sidewalk path. But it's still worth the visit.

This is my favorite place to walk in Tacoma. Wheelchair accessible and parking can usually be found for free without too much trouble. Restrooms by the playground near the stairs. View is amazing and it's mostly flat so great for all levels of ability. Really beautiful area. Plenty to do, shop, and eat but I'm always happy just walking and people watching here. Must visit if in the area! ♥️

Every summer that I visit Tacoma, I make my way to Ruston Way Waterfront. It's a magnificent place that has everything an outdoors person would love. Walking path along Commencement Bay, Splash Pad for kids from ages 0-99, Farmer's Market, shopping, picnic areas, kayaking, etc. Close by is Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium, Owen Beach, and a plethora of other parks and activities. It is like a one stop shop for family fun or relaxation. The backdrop of Mt. Rainier adds to the ambiance of the place.

I absolutely love the Point Ruston area! It’s a fantastic place to relax, unwind, and even get in a good workout or some light hiking. There are plenty of scenic spots to just take in the view, and almost every time we visit, we spot seals by the water—something my son absolutely loves. While it’s especially enjoyable in warmer weather, we recently visited on a chilly day and still had a great time. No matter the season, it’s always a beautiful and refreshing place to explore!

Nice place to bring the family. Dining shopping and entertainment all with incredible views of the sound. Bike/scooter rentals available seasonally. Playground and splash pad for the kiddos. Walk the promenade or sit on one of the many benches along the path and people watch. There’s something for everyone here.

Great place to spend time with family. Playgrounds, walking areas, restaurants. Also we have seen a lot of sea lions and beautiful sound views. You will find everything here. There is no free parking anymore. Only far away from the main interest zone.
