Stunning place! The only reason i gave the room four-stars is because when we arrived, we found the pillowcases were stained. But we were able to replace kindly with the housekeeper who was down the hall from our room at the time. We were given a really nice room, the front desk team are great! The view of the beach from our room was stunning! We could only stay one night but we def were reconsidering changing plans around to stay another night! WE WILL BE BACK!

The rooms were comfortable and cute, and the sliding privacy shades were great! The staff is super helpful!

You have to try the restaurant Toasted!
Even if you're not a guest, it is well worth it!

There is a bit of construction on the new bar and indoor dining, but the staff more than made up for it on the Terrence!! The stuffed French toast was the best I've ever had, and the dinner crew was probably the best part of our stay!!

A massive shout-out to the evening manager, IVAN!!!!
He made our evening and stay incredible. His optimism and character are funny and contagious!!

It is a great place to chill and relax for vacation. We will be going back!!

Firstly, this is NOT considered an Autograph Collection Hotel!!!! Do not come here if are expecting that type of hotel. The pictures online are very deceiving. The doors to all the rooms open to the outside (so this is a motel; not hotel). The room that we stayed in had a nice view of the ocean but you can’t get in the water because it’s contaminated. The AC/Heat didn’t work in our room and Ronell the front desk supervisor tried to accommodate us as much as he could. We had problems with ants in our room the entire time. However, we ending up staying in the original room because what they were offering was worse than where we were already at. Ronell did compensate us with reward points and percentages off our stay, so we made the best of our 4 day stay.

No hot water throughout my entire 4 day stay. No sense of urgency or care from staff to fix the hot water. It was just an "oh well" type of attitude. Check in took a very long time as no one was at the front desk and was just sitting in the back room. Main elevator broken, had to take service elevator. Gym is small and gross. Pictures online do not match the property. Property is older and not as clean. Only positive is the location and view.

I average 125 nights a year at Marriott properties and Pier South, SD Marquise, and Ko Olina are my favorites. I have stayed at Pier South 20 times over the last two years and my ocean front rooms are just perfect. I have never experienced any smells, and I don’t go there to enter the beach but rather to relax at a true beach front property. They have a great happy hour led by the wonderful Sharron and if I check in with Barron behind the front desk I feel so welcomed. If you skip the roof top area or breakfast you are missing out.

Went for a relaxing weekend, but they are currently doing construction on the restaurant. Sounded like someone was banging on our walls, and we were on the 4th floor. It was going on all day. This was never mentioned to us upon check-in or on their site.

The room was great! Front desk employees were very nice, but not very professional. Hotel seems a bit outdated for a Bonvoy Luxury Hotel. We made the best of it.

What a great little hotel. We are being treated like royalty. The room is amazing. The bed is so comfortable. The view is unbelievable. The hospitality is second to none. Love the little restaurant inside the hotel. Right outside the hotel is a little brewery with amazing tacos and a cute little coffee bar for your morning needs. The room is so clean and the lobby smells amazing. Absolutely will stay here everytime we come to San Diego.
