As we were passing through Philippi they’re hardly any restaurants heading back to the interstate. The other restaurant in Philippi was closed. So, we decided to eat here. This place is NASTY & DIRTY inside! The bathroom is disgusting it looked they haven’t cleaned this place in ages. However, we ordered prior to going to the bathroom. The food was a little pricey and a lot of it was microwaveable. I will never be back here! DO NOT EAT HERE!

Solid comfort food for a reasonable price. Got roast beef dinner with mashed potatoes and mac n cheese for $13.75. Comes with homemade rolls.

I was a little rushed & ordered the Chili & grilled cheese on daily special menu. It came quickly, but no saltines (chili & no crackers?) & I requested yellow mustard for the grilled cheese. Young waitress said, "give me a minute." Then walk back n forth past me, but, no mustard or anything else - ignored. Finally, it was getting cold, so i ate the bean-filled chili, no crackers! Finally, an older waitress brought me mustard, for my cold grilled cheese, and lotsa crackers for my EMPTY BOWL! And, she said the other waitress was new. SO? Try training her!

This place is a hidden gem! We are here on a CLC in Elkin and we come here almost every day! Family friendly, big family meal servings, and real pie!!!! The staff is absolutely amazing!

We will definitely be back whether with our CLC or on personal time!

Watch your receipt! The two times I ate here, I wasn’t overwhelmed with the food, but I also got simpler entrees like steak (not a great sear) or fish with green beans and cottage cheese. The pies looked amaze. My complaints are more about staff. One waitress, long dark hair was always perky and kind. The waitress with the shorter light brown hair was curt with all patrons, not just me. Like, legit rude. Further, I had a takeout order and she added a nice little $5 tip to herself on a $15 to-go order. Tips don’t show up right away online for credit purchases so make sure you check your account often. The manager, Eric, helpfully refunded.

Iv been in west virgina about 2 months and I have tried food from many different places and this place the phillippi inn is by far the best food I have had in awhile if you find your self in the area trust me when I say this you have to go in and try there food it is a real home cooked meal very filling price is right and the atmosphere is just as good as the food and service I give this place 5 star rating that says alot for me to say this we're I'm used to eating in westerly rhode Island and watch hill rhode Island where there's stars like Taylor swift live and by far hands down if they were to ever try this place they would say the same thing awesome
