Our stay there was mediocre, at best. Management is lazy and rude. Rooms smell of cigarettes and mold. Noise from guests fighting, with barking dogs and loud drunks from the bar in the same parking lot at all hours of the day and night. The maintenance man is friendly. He told us the the best sights to see and places to eat in the area and was kind enough to let us in our room when we locked the key inside, twice. All in all, if you're looking for just a place to crash and don't mind getting dirty looks when checking in/out, are ok with noxious smells, and are able to sleep through constant noise, this is the place to be.

Staff were friendly, but the room was pretty grimy and theres definitely mold in the bathroom. The bed was surprisingly comfy and the heater/ac unit worked really well. It was very noisy throughout the entire night but the heater was loud enough to sleep fine. It was super cheap and not technically the worst place I’ve stayed at so…

We've stayed here several times over the past 5 years and the conditions have worsened with each visit. This time, our room smelled like it hadn't been cleaned in some time (lingering urine odor). We bought a room freshener to help with that. There are floorboards that have become loosened and have gaps in them. My wife couldn't get the shower to work correctly and after a minute, I was able to get it to work. Once again, on day 2, our key wouldn't open the door and we had to get another. Having to deal with someone through an electronic kiosk instead of face to face is a bit much and makes communication difficult at times. A major downside with staying on the bottom floor (which is not really the fault of the motel) is that people are so inconsiderate of the amount of noise they make either in their room or outside of their room. The location is the best selling point, although getting out of the parking lot and onto Highway 30 can be frustrating. I understand the whole minimalistic approach, but some general upkeep on the room and equipment doesn't seem like a difficult task.

I stayed in Room 110 on Friday, January 24. I got into my room and it was extremely cold in there. I found the bathroom window wide open. I immediately closed it, turned the heat up full blast. I went to bed as I was exhausted from driving all day. I woke in the middle of the night freezing. The heater never came on, I grabbed my sleeping bag from my car. The temp that was registered in my car said 26°. The room was FILTHY, toenail clippings on the floor, dirt and hair in the bathroom drawer (I’m sorry I looked). Dirt, hair and debris in all the corners of the room. Globs of hair in the heater. Imagine the smell IF the heater had worked. HORRIBLE STAY. NEVER AGAIN.

I should have taken the reviews more seriously. If we were not staying for just a few hours to see Halloweentown, I would have canceled. It was by far the bare minimum. I walked in and did not feel comfortable leaving our bags inside, checked for bed bugs. It was thad bad to look at visually.
Personally, I did not mind the check in process with the virtual agent but it just goes to show you there's few if any people on property.
The rooms smelled, the most uncomfortable mattress and pillows. We were not even comfortable to take a shower in the room. The walls were dirty, it was loud outside, the location did not feel safe. Just drive back to Portland. Would not recommend.

Two stars is pretty generous. Check in is done through a kiosk with a virtual clerk. Feels very ‘welcome to Costco, I love you’. Room was freezing, and so old and crusty. It was as clean as it could be considering everything seemed to be from the 70’s. The heater was busted and didn’t work. Towels smelt like smoke. Toilet was leaking all over the bathroom floor. Walls are paper thin, heard the neighbors partying (loud music and shouting) all night. Dogs barking through the night, dog and people hair all up in the bedding. The music was still playing when we got up at 6:00am. OYO was the only hotel available in town when we booked a few months ago. Chatted with another couple staying there waiting to settle out at the Kozy Corner diner, their room was covered in black mold and had food left in it from previous guests. It’s only in business because it’s one of two hotels in Halloweentown and is very clearly run by a shady oversees business. Should have been a $60.00 a night stay instead of the $130.00 it cost. 10/10 would not recommend.

This place is horrible, just pick the other choice. From the moment you walk in to check in , to the moment you walk into the room. Room stinks like cigarettes even though there non smoking rooms . Random hairs on my bed sheets . Pillows were the worst ones I ever seen . Walls are super thin I can here all my neighbors doing there thing . Rooms share water heater so you can here it anytime someone is in the shower . Fridge sounds like crap . Beds are crazy old and noisy,Just a sketchy spot from the beginning to the end . Cant believe I actually stayed here . Wife is definitely not in charge of booking anymore.

My husband rented a room for 3 nights while working and was charged an additional $60.00 for a set of towels. The policy is no charge if the towels were returned. The hotel host was rude and wouldn't even listen to what I was saying. All 3 days of towels were left in the room. Would not recommenunlessa5 this facility.ay
