Vintage hotel that needs a lot of work. Bring bug spray. Owned and "ran" by a couple from India. He's nice. She always is a well. You know. She has a bad attitude. Not customer oriented.
It was built in 1936 and owned by the same Ollson family until they decided to sell. Business people and others would stay there. It was a clean and safe play to stay. Not much around the area close for eating, shopping or anything. You have to go to Tillman's Corner. Just keep going West. There several hotels in that big I-10 Intersection. They are not expensive. But, I would just. If you are not staying in the area for an extended time, try some of the hotels at Spanish Fort or DAPHNE. Accross Mobile BAY. SAME PRICE AS OLLSONS depending on type of room, etc. book online at EXTENDED STAY. Cheaper rate. Is like the Ritz compared to Ollson's. Oh, OLLSONS WILL NOT ACCEPT CATS! EXTENDED STAY DAPHNE WILL!**

We have had to stay here 2 nights because we haven't had power since hurricane Sally. The owner is nice and up front about Everything. We needed a double bed room because my husband is a disabled veteran and on oxygen. The price was good, $80 for 2 queen size beds, microwave, fridge and cable, I think wifi to. The fridge in the room gets cold real fast and stays cold. The a/c works Great. It's real close to shops and eateries with 5 minutes.

The owner lives in a house in the middle of the property. You ring the bell for service and he comes from home in his pajamas he changed me $60+ $10 for key deposit for stinky roach infested dirty room in desperate need of cleaning ( There Were Dead Roaches in the Shower) upgrading and renovation I had to ask him if he thought we were crackheads as we returned the keys demanding our money back mobile is a nasty city.

Room was disgusting and of all thing the room had bed bugs. If you can rent a better place for you to stay. Manager is very rude when I explained to her about the bed bugs with obvious bites all over my arm. Blocked my number as well. Will by going to court for this one.

We used to like this place when the Olssons owned it. It was quaint, well maintained, and AAA rated. Well, the Olssons are long gone. You can probably guess who owns it now. It is no longer maintained. The room had a strong musty smell. We figured it would air out once the air conditioner ran. It did not. My sleeping clothes still smell like the room a day after we left. Other than the smell, everything seemed clean.

This is one of those independent 1 Level motels that were such a big part of American culture in the 40's and 50's. There are 2 Original Neon Signs out front that have been featured in several Alabama publications. Keep in mind that this is a rather old motel (1930's) and it shows.
