I really enjoyed my stay at Ocean Echo & Beach Cottages. Having access to a quiet, small beach just steps down the street was wonderful, as was hearing the waves through the window.
The room's kitchen made it easy to prepare meals while I was in the area for an event. The continental breakfast is very simple (bagels, pastries, fruit, yogurt, hard boiled eggs, coffee, tea). I recommend local owned Coffeetopia for an early (6 am!) breakfast bagel or burrito.
I appreciated the quiet, neighborhood feel to the location, and felt safe as a solo traveler. Easy access to downtown Santa Cruz and the freeway. Now that I know I can bring my dog here, I'll come back again!

The room was clean. We needed help with the heater. It was on Celsius, and a call to the owner helped get it on Fahrenheit and cozy warm. Thank you! I had coffee in the morning, it was hot and the breakfast looked good. The quick walk to the private cove was nice, and it was fun to watch the surfers.

Our Airbnb fell through, and we were so glad to have found this pet-friendly place last minute. What a gem! It is well maintained. Our room is clean and bed is comfortable. The kitchenette is well equipped to cook up a nice meal. Location is delightful. Few steps away from a small beach and a Starbucks- a great way to start the morning. Area is safe and easy to get to multiple places. Over all, an easy, no fuss, budget-friendly stay with our furry friend. Highly recommend

I stay here once a year, on a girlfriend trip, and it’s always a wonderful experience! It’s walking distance to the beach and the cottages are just adorable! Very comfortable with many amenities. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place, I promise you’ll enjoy your stay! ❤️

The location is fantastic and the people who work there are friendly. We stayed in the water tower cottage and it had a few little issues but it was overall cute and fun for a little getaway. It's a bit tired inside (particularly the mattress), but I kept telling myself that it's not a luxury hotel (despite the price), it's a luxury location and has a kitchen in the cottage so we could cook our own food. Bring your own knives though if you're driving and want to cook, theirs are dull. But otherwise had pots and pans and plates etc., all we needed to cook a couple meals per day. ||It's a 30 second walk from a protected, fantastic little beach. There's a Starbucks on the corner and lots of good restaurants nearby including the Point Market with the best breakfast burritos. It was also very quiet at night.

We have visited multiple times, have tried different rooms and have always been pleased. We like to bring our dog and appreciate that the pet friendly rooms are spacious and comfortable. We love that there is a dog friendly beach, food and coffee steps from our room.

Great location in that it is a very short walk to lovely cove and beach. Also, a cute very quiet street.

We were charged $50 each for two very small dogs, which felt excessive to me, especially considering the base rate for a queen bed room was quite high. We had to go to the office to request a bar of soap for the bathroom.

Our stay at the Ocean Echo Inn was wonderful! It was well kept and quiet, the staff was friendly and helpful and it felt very cozy! Our boys, ages 11 and 5, loved it and didn’t want to leave. The Ocean Echo is a short walk to Sunny Cove Beach- a beautiful little beach. The continental breakfast set up was small but cute and had all the necessary items which was super convenient. They have a pin pong table on the deck outside which was fun! The staff directed me to a chest filled with beach toys for my boys to use on our day at the beach as well as beach towels. There is a table on the back deck where we enjoyed breakfast on our first morning. The Ocean Echo Inn and Cottages was lovely, we’ll be back!
