My husband and I stayed for 4 nights, July 22-July 25 2024. The first two nights were fantastic in a relatively newly remodeled Ocean View King room. The 3rd and 4th nights were in Ocean View Suite room Q, which was truly the worst dive hotel room - we have stayed in some dumpy hotels when we were younger and this was much worse than anyplace we have stayed, and yet the price was the same as the nice rooms. I knew there were some rooms that were old and rundown but was misled over the phone that if it was an Ocean View room it had been updated. NOT TRUE. And it has not even had the bare minimum of maintenance. Carpets were torn and stained, the Bathroom fan sounded like a jet engine, yet was tied into the light so unavoidable at night. The room was super dark with one lamp and one weak ceiling fixture. And to top it all off the heat was broken, and we were there in an unseasonably cold week and needed heat. We would not have stayed the final night but were moving on to our next destination the following day and in peak summer could not find a replacement room on such short notice. I get it that things break occasionally, but even if the heat worked my review would be the same. I wrongly assumed that there would be some financial discount for the night with no heat, and the front desk person was somewhat helpful, but after multiple conversations, email, and phone calls, the ownership would do absolutely nothing to make it right. I was clear that I was not looking for a free night, just a discounted rate for the night with no heat. But the owner was unwilling to do anything.

Beautiful area with lots of beach access. The room was clean with nice decor. The TV was outdated and small, no microwave, and no refrigerator. The hot tub (which was why I wanted to stay there) was out of commission. They locked the laundry room with ice machine at 10pm.

Service here is often unfriendly and even hostile, which is such a shame as it degrades what is otherwise a nice mid-range motel on a bluff amid old trees giving spectacular views. Refurbished rooms are comfortable while non-refurbished rooms are very dated (50s/60s decor) but have fireplaces making them cozy and inexpensive. The pool and hot tub are wonderful when open, but are often out of service and are not well kept with lots of mold stains on the walls and ceilings. Maid service often misses rooms (be sure to put out your ready for service sign early in the day), and the whole resort seems to be maintained at the minimum level possible. It is all very disappointing for what could be (and once was) a solid Washington coast getaway.

I lost $250 due to the host not clearly defining the terms through their advertisements. DO NOT BOOK through 3rd party (Air B&B) at this location. There are added fees upon check-in that are not disclosed through 3rd party bookings, NEGLIGENCE TO DISCLOSE FROM THE HOST. Credit card is required for security deposit-Not declared when booked. Decent location, photos shown are OLD! I hope to get a refund, they seem more concerned about profit, than customer satisfaction I found a 4 star resort 20 min away!
The terms are not clearly stated on the apps posted by the host, concerned only about profit margins. It would be helpful if the host stated credit card required at time of check-in and additional fees apply. 1 star.

Intro
Upon arrival for our one night stay, the room that we had booked hadn't been cleaned the day prior so we were upgraded to one of the newly renovated king suites with a balcony and beautiful view of the beach. The sounds were also very relaxing, even through a stormy night. The room is beautiful, with decent size windows for a good view and decent size bathroom. Amenities were plenty; Kurig coffee maker, mini fridge, shower soap pumps, hair blow drier, bath robes, etc. The heating and cooling was easy to control. The walk down to the beach was pretty, but a little slippery from the weather. Looking forward to the pool and hot tub being open when we return.

Restaurant
Our Waiter, Kyle was a delight to serve us, with good Mannerism and Enthusiasm. In Christmas spirit he offered us free desert on the house and we also received a 15% discount for the meal given at check in for our stay. The meals made with passion and were the most delicious and tender comfortable flavors to have ever tasted. Overall a Very classy and romantic setting.

Fantastic as usual! We always have the Louisiana Prawns, they did not disappoint! I had scallops-perfectly seared and my friend had a steak- also perfect. Espresso martini for dessert-delish! Our server was great as well! The view is the best in the area- be there for sunset! Just spectacular

I have stayed at Ocean Crest for years with my family. We just stayed 2/19-2/20 in room 415. I have 3 small kids and my mom joined us.
We had got up from the beach and were getting in the car to cross to the pool parking area to get a quick swim in before checking out. I had noticed a man watching us as we got into the car, but didn’t think much of it.
The kids had just got into the pool when this man stormed into the pool area, pointing at me and saying ā€œyou need to leave!ā€ He was very aggressive in his posture and tone. He said only 4 people could be in the room and therefore we had to leave the pool now. I know I had one too many people in the room, so I thought I’d try to diffuse the situation—telling him ā€œI’m sorry, I truly didn’t realize it was such a big deal because my 3 kids are littleā€ This did not diffuse the situation, he continued to yell and point at me and then stormed out. I felt very uncomfortable especially with my children there. I understand that there is a capacity, but the way that he handled the situation was completely inappropriate. I felt anxious leaving, worried that he would be waiting and watching us and yell at us again. I don’t know what his name was, but I’m guessing this is not new or unusual behavior from him and you probably know who it would be. We will not be coming back.

I will start by saying that the two stars are for the restaurant and pool. The ā€œresortā€ itself was a complete misrepresentation. ||We booked last minute on the resort’s website and got the last ā€œstandard queenā€ that was available. We knew we likely weren’t getting the best room in the resort, but to say we were shocked is an understatement. We walked into an incredibly small room on the street side of the building, directly above the office. Right away we could see that the whole room was slanted toward the south wall, to the point that the furniture was visibly leaning back. Our ā€œviewā€ was of the back of the resort sign. We would have asked for a different room, but knew there were no vacancies, so decided to make the best of it. Upon sitting on the bed, we discovered that the room wasn’t just slanted toward the south, it was warped, so the headboard side of the bed was lower than the feet. We decided to laugh and call it an adventure, all while inwardly cringing at what we paid for the room. ||We made dinner reservations and, other than a long-ish wait to be seated, had a great meal and good service. ||After dinner, I decided to check out the DVD rentals in the office to watch on the smallest hotel TV I’ve ever seen, while my boyfriend got ice for our cooler because, shocker, no fridge in the room. We decided against the almost $5 rental price. I made a joke with the lobby staff about our room maybe having been the one for the on site staff back in the early days of the resort. They responded by saying ā€œit’s the room that hikers usually reserve, who have no intention of spending any time in the room.ā€||As we attempted to sleep, we were lulled by the sounds of the toilet running, the shower dripping, the loud plumbing of our neighboring room, and the road noise. When I got up in the night to use the restroom (the door of which barely shut), I literally almost fell because of the slope of the room to the south and my boyfriend woke up to my yelp and jokingly asked if I needed to ā€œtie inā€ to get to the bathroom safely. ||In the morning, we were woken at 6:30 AM by the incredibly loud in-room alarm clock, that we had not set. When we saw the folks from the neighboring room checking out shortly after, I apologized for the alarm because it was so loud, I’m sure it woke them too, and they said the same thing happened to them. ||Oh, did I mention that the resort website noted that the pool, spa, etc were closed for maintenance when we booked? Because we were booking last minute, this wasn’t a dealbreaker, despite there being no obvious price-reduction. We called ahead the day before to make sure it was still closed and were told it was, so I didn’t pack a suit. Upon our arrival, it was open! So we ended up going down to Ocean Shores the next day so I could go to 3 stores before finding a suit. Once we did swim, the pool, spa, and sauna were enjoyable - though note that none of the restrooms or changing rooms are open, so you need to walk across the street (no crosswalk) in your suit and robe. ||Here’s the deal, I’m in marketing and I also like funky vacation places. Ocean Crest should consider leaning into the history of the property and offer two different ā€œThen and Nowā€ experiences. Have the price point of the renovated portion of the resort (which is what most of the pictures are of) be a little higher and market it as the ā€œNow.ā€ For the older side, that we were in, funkify the ā€œThenā€rooms to be more retro and make them at a lower price point. Call our room the ā€œHikers Specialā€ and make it clear that it’s for folks who aren’t planning to chill. ||Did we have a good time? Yes, because we were in good company and we always have fun when we take adventures. But would we stay here again? I think the answer to that is probably obvious. ||Oh, and no, we didn’t say anything or complain to management because, after reading the other one and two star reviews, we knew that wouldn’t get us anywhere, so wasn’t worth it. Though, we did take the advice of another reviewer who had a slanted room and slept with our heads at the foot of the bed.
