This used to be a nice little stop for a sandwich and maybe some cold chicken. Now since the new owners it's a circus like experience with a really lot going on which can be fun if you have to be in a busy environment. The wine tasting building was fun, but pricey$$$, the food was fine but pricey $$$. Not sure if there will be a next time, but I'm sure they won't miss me

If you're ever in Napa, Oakville Grocery is a must-visit! This place is a total treat with its incredible selection of meats, cheeses, and, of course, amazing wines. It's the kind of place where you can easily lose track of time exploring all the unique, high-quality options they have. Whether you're picking up something special or looking for an amazing meal, you'll find it here. The staff is super friendly and always ready with recommendations, making the whole experience feel personal and fun. I left with a smile, and a basket full of goodies!

If you find yourself in Napa Valley, particularly near St. Helena, Oakville Grocery is a must-visit. It’s more than just a gourmet market—it’s an experience that transports you to a simpler time, where quality ingredients, local flavors, and a warm, rustic atmosphere make for an unforgettable stop.

I was drawn in by the history of the place—it’s been around since 1881, making it the oldest continually operating grocery store in California. You can feel the old-world charm the moment you step inside, from the vintage decor to the wooden shelves stocked with artisanal products from local farms and producers.

The biggest surprise hit me—not a single bottle of kosher wine.

With so many fantastic kosher wineries in Napa today—Marciano, Hagafen, Covenant, and even small-batch labels producing some of the best wines in the region—it was truly surprising that Oakville Grocery didn’t carry even one. It’s a missed opportunity, especially considering how many kosher wine lovers and Jewish visitors pass through Napa. I was always surprised at the lack of Kosher food options as well, as opposed to Sunshine foods that had a plethora of kosher options.

The coffee is was excellent—smooth, rich, and just what you need for a day of exploring.

Oakville Grocery captures the essence of Napa Valley—slow, intentional, and focused on quality. Even with the surprising lack of kosher wine, it’s still worth stopping by to experience a piece of California history and pick up something special. But if you’re looking for a kosher wine to enjoy with your finds, you’ll have to make another stop.

My favorite spot for a quick bite in between the tastings. It’s not cheap but all their salads are unique and always fresh. Selection of meat and cheeses is great and there are other locally grown product you can enjoy. Having an option to order wine or beer with your food is great bonus

Food, lawn, friendly faces, great food, and wine. Whether you want to stop by for fuel to start your tasting day or just want to stop for lunch, this place is great. Really two locations in one. The food in the main. Grocery is fresh, fast and very good. Wood fired pizzas, sandwiches, and snacks, all are worth trying. Across the lawn is wine tasting by the glass. You can try some of the best of Napa in a very casual and comfortable setting. Don't know anything about wine, no problem. The guys are always there to make a suggestion. Don't skip this place.

Oakville Grocery is a Napa gem! Apparently it's the oldest continually operating grocery store in California, and I do love some California history. They offer bakery items, deli style food, gourmet grocery/pantry items, and lots & lots of wine!

We stopped for a casual lunch on our way to a wine tasting, and it was the perfect choice. We enjoyed a BLTA deli sandwich and a small serving of Greek salad under an umbrella on the patio. There was ice water available in a self-serve dispenser. There's no inside seating, so finding shade was imperative on this particularly warm day.

We walked through the Oakville Wine Merchant next door, and this two story library of wine with an ornate chandelier was pretty neat to see. They have a wall of self-serve wine... you can pick "tastes" or full glasses. We didn't stay for that, but it looked kind of fun.

A lot of Napa is really boujee, there's a "quiet luxury" vibe that can be intimidating to outsiders. Aside from the price tag (i.e. $20 deli sandwich) Oakville Grocery felt comfortable and welcoming to all, which I appreciated. The food was really good, too!
