This is such a great little hotel right in the middle of everything Astoria has to offer (which is a lot). The rooms are fairly basic but very clean with tasteful, minimalist decor. I reserved a king suite for my last stay and it was even more comfortable with fun art and a private bathroom. For previous stays I've always reserved a regular cabins with shared bathrooms, which has never an issue as the bathrooms are spotless and always available. Staff are friendly and we like how you can take a record player and records to your room. The location seriously can't be beat (or the prices). Thank you, Norblad. We'll definitely be back!

I was in town for a photography workshop and was looking for a place within walking distance of Lightbox Gallery. There were several options but I really liked the description and vibe from the Norblad Hotel website. When I got there check in was easy and welcoming and the vibe was just what I had hoped. The common walls are lined with vinyl records and you can borrow a turntable for your room to play them. They also have iPods if you prefer. I stayed in one of the rooms with a private bath but you can save some money by sharing (my friends who did so said they never had to wait). My room was spacious and very comfortable. It is very walkable to town, coffee shops, restaurants, and the waterfront. On thing to be aware of is that that do not have parking and many spots are marked 2 hour maximum but there is also parking nearby that is not time limited. I will definitely stay there again.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Norblad Hotel. The location is perfect, with walking access to several great restaurants, pubs, and coffee shops, as well as the wonderful Maritime Museum--don't miss it if you go to Astoria. Astoria is one of my favorite cities, and the Norblad is a great place to stay while you visit. The accommodations were clean, the staff were friendly, and we appreciated the original tile and windows in our room. We loved the common area; there is a fireplace, couch and chairs that were perfect for lounging and reading a book. Our room was not fancy, but it had everything we needed, plus character. Will definitely come back!

I really enjoyed my two-night stay at the Norblad. I stayed in a Cabin room, and found it extremely comfortable and roomy. The decor is fresh and contemporary, and the bed was comfortable. It was nice to have a sink in the room, and there was never an issue with accessing the shared bathroom when needed.

The vibe of the place is informal: cool and hip without trying too hard. Front desk people are very professional, helpful and friendly. Rooms and common areas are kept very clean. If you get stuck indoors due to intemperate weather (as sometimes occurs in Astoria), you can borrow a turntable and one of the vintage vinyl records on display in the lobby.

The downtown location is excellent for walking to museums, historic districts and the riverwalk. You are also literally surrounded by beer venues 1 block away: Buoy taproom, Breakside taproom, Fort George brewery (winner of Best Brewpub Experience at the Oregon Beer Awards), and the Bridge and Tunnel taproom where they occasionally have gatherings of poets and philosophers in the back room.

I am glad I stayed here and would definitely stay at the Norblad again.

My daughter and I loved staying in an Astoria suite. We had a corner suite with wonderful views of Astoria and the bridge over the Columbia. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the sitting are was very nicely appointed. We particularly liked having coffee and tea in our suite while being able to eat simple breakfasts and prepare lunches for our daily outings. We loved Astoria and the surrounding areas. Will definitely return.

My daughter and I stayed at Norblad. We loved having a shared kitchen to make healthy meal and save a little money. The location was near everything we wanted to do, loved how walkable everything was. Our room was clean and cozy to come back to. The only we washed for was a bigger common area, we know not much can be done about that 🙂 have maybe more hooks and shelves in the shower and bathrooms. We will stay again!

Super lovely! Great staff. Nice coffee. Beautiful room. This small hotel is so cozy and affordable. Bed was also super nice. Staff helped us find places to eat and drink as well as offer great suggestions on what to do in the area. They lend out little record players which was fun. No Tv in our room which I like. Screen break!!!

Friendly folks, both staff and other guests. Very relaxed ambience. Very clean! Comfortable bed. Well maintained. A great central location close to everything. This was our tenth visit there and wouldn’t stay anywhere else on our annual visits to Astoria.
