Would not recommend. At the entrance, I was greeted by a ton of flies, and reception was on a separate floor. I didn't have internet in my bedroom for more than 3 hours. There wasn't soap, nor toilet paper in the bathroom or any toiletries, and when I left, there wasn't anyone around for checkout.

Overall good experience. The rooms are neat and clean. For the price, it’s a great. It’s obviously not going to be a luxury hotel, but if that’s something you want, you’re not going to get it for this price…Some rooms have shared bathrooms (if you choose this), but I didn’t mind since I’m used to living in a dorm. The family who owns the hotel is super sweet, and she helped me out with a lot and was super kind. It’s also near a lot of cool places to visit in Berkeley. I’ll definitely go back if I ever need a place to stay in Berkeley.

My recent stay at the Nash Hotel in Berkeley was nothing short of wonderful, thanks in large part to Yvonne at the front desk. As an Australian visiting the US, I was a bit confused by the currency conversion and quite jet-lagged, but Yvonne's incredible kindness and patience made all the difference. She ensured we had a smooth check-in and provided a beautifully furnished room that perfectly matched the hotel's charming vintage and dark academia style, with rich dark wood accents that spoke to the hotel's 100-year-old history.
My partner and I were in town for a science conference, and the Nash Hotel's proximity to the university made our stay incredibly convenient. The location is fantastic, with a delightful mix of local attractions including an excellent vegan pizza shop nearby, convenient fast food just around the corner, and an abundance of adorable squirrels adding to the charm.
Overall, staying at the Nash Hotel was a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Berkeley. The combination of excellent service, beautiful accommodations, and a prime location made our trip memorable and enjoyable.

I don't understand why there are so many bad reviews on this hotel.
the room was clean and comfortable. the facility is a little old and shared in the bathroom, but the price is explained it.
The owner is super kind. she even delivered my super heavy luggage to the room.
I have really good experience while staying

This place was disgusting. I came here for a wedding with my husband and brother-in-law and I knew nothing about this hotel. Walking in, I wanted to walk out. It was old and outdated. The doors still had simple doorlocks. The beds sheets had stains on them. I was getting uncomfortable goose bumps. My brother-in-law even had found a USED NEEDLE in the closet of the room!! It was so unpleasant to know, but he found it on our way out after searching for our things. I would never stay here again. The only good part was it was near Milkbomb and a breakfast place that were both super delicious.

Positive: None. Negative: Smells like dead animals in room. To be honest I booked Two nights and I had to change to another hotel on my second night. And you have to share one restroom with the whole level guests. Negative: ""

This hotel is a scam. Upcharged for having "extra" people (we were two adults). Outdated rooms with worn furniture and torn and dirty blinds. The radiator would start a high pitched whistle at 6am and won't stop until you leave (because you cannot stand it anymore).

We met so many people on our stay here, who said they have been coming here for years. It's a best kept secret, at least price wise. We were coming to a football game, homecoming, between UCLA and Cal and visiting our son who is a senior at UC Berkeley. I kept checking back, trying to find a hotel for under $200, as it seems everyone was jacking up their prices for the big weekend. Finally, Nash's came available at $149, so I grabbed it. We stayed here on a Saturday night, so street parking was free after 6 PM, and we found a parking space right in front of the hotel. If you're staying here during the week, you'll need to add $30 or so per day for parking, because the hotel does not have free parking. While the hotel could use a significant renovation inside, especially new carpets, we found the hotel to be awesome. Our room on the second floor overlooked University Avenue and was still very quiet. The hotel seems to have been at least originally well-designed with quiet in mind with vacant hallways in between each room. I never heard a neighbor. We may have been lucky though because we got a room with its own bath. There are some rooms that share a common bathroom, so you may want to consider that fact. Not sure if TA tells you whether you have a private bath or not. We also got some very good vegan food in the Nash Cafe downstairs; they put together a nice little tofu, bok choy, and noodle dinner for us. It was a lot of food, and we're still eating the left overs a day later!
