I travel for a living.
This place is amazing!
Great, sweet people!
Only matched by the amazing food!
I'm a 5 pump extra hot triple shot blonde roast Starbucks addict, and theirs didn't strike me as well as here, HOWEVER... the Northern pie (Triple berry) and biscuits and gravy were stupendous!!!

What a little gem in the heart of Newport. My son and I were driving down main street when we saw their sign and decided to stop. So glad we did as we have been back once already, and expect more visits. They have a small but pleasant menu with plenty of tasty offerings. It is my opinion that the true measure of any breakfast place is biscuits and gravy. I assure you they don't disappoint. Their biscuits are made in house and are a fluffy flaky pillow of buttery goodness topped with a lovely sausage gravy (with just the right amount of pepper) and pair it with oven roasted home fries. I also had a cup of their 3-bean chili...The chili was light, bright and had really good, clean flavor. My son had the Canadian bacon & egg breakfast sandwich. He stated it was really good with a perfect distribution of biscuit, egg, cheese and meat in each bite. On our second visit, my goal was to try something different but the biscuits and gravy called to me. My son got the Canadian bacon and pineapple flatbread with a slice of carrot cake. Holy smokes kids! That flatbread was super delicious and that carrot cake... will be my last supper request. Not only was the food amazing and filling, you totally get your money's worth. Their pricing was a bit of a shock (in a good way) to be honest. Each brunch cost less than $30 for us to eat. Their service was classic for a hometown eatery... very attentive, kind and with a smile.

UPDATE: I returned today with my son and we enjoyed an overwhelming positive experience. I updated my review to five stars on all points. I will leave my original review below as reference to my original first impression.
---------------------------------
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
We tried this business a couple times at their prior location. I don't know what the circumstances where but there were always feral children darting about giving us the impression the cafe shared space with a daycare. After they moved to this new location we decided to return for another attempt at enjoying the services...

The layout of the new place is really nice and includes a cozy loft! We took menus up to the loft and found a little table for two. There was another party up there who appear to be in a quiet business meeting. What a great place to hold an informal meeting! After looking over the menu we returned to the order counter, place our order, paid, then returned to our table for two in the loft. I ordered the breakfast sandwich meal and my wife ordered the flatbread pizza 'Hawaiian' style with ham & pineapple toppings. I tipped 20%, you're welcome.

That was the end of our great experience...

Our coffee arrived tepid. We drank it anyways. When our food arrived mine was perfect! However, my wife's 'Hawaiian' flatbread pizza was missing the pineapple! She asked for the pineapple to be added on and the cook took it back to the kitchen. About the time I finished my meal, the cook brings out my wife's meal and complained the order ticket didn't include "Pineapple". Okay, so what part of "Hawaiian" pizza did you miss? We didn't write the order and the menu clearly says "Two toppings" so why didn't you ask for clarification? Next time don't complain to the guest - keep that in-house. So the cook added the pineapple to the pizza, sprinkled on a little more cheese, then popped it into the microwave to completely ruin the flatbread! It was almost inedible and my wife only finished part and took the rest home to reheat in the convection oven hopefully to dry out the soggy mess the cook made of it.

Shortly before we left a party of six, one adult and five little children/toddlers came up to make the loft their personal 'bounce house'! They all ran amuck with food in their mouths and sticky hands, sneezing and coughing over the railing upon the diners seated at the tables below! I was about to cook-off and my wife seen this so got us out of there before I made regretful mistakes. But seriously - the loft really needs to be off-limits to children. Make an age requirement - 14 or 16 to be allowed upstairs, please.

On the way out I got my cup of drip coffee refilled. I was in the truck and rolling before I took a sip... absolutely ice cold!

My wife would like to give them another try but I have my hesitations...

UPDATE: Thank you for the refund! That was not expected. I'll let the wife know, I'm sure she will return for dessert sometime.

The Amish bake was good. Would order it again. The potatoes were okay. Not crispy at all. She has a proper sausage gravey. Would go back just for that.
Ran out of biscuits before 10:30 am. The breakfast sandwich on an English muffin was no better then Macdonalds, very dry. Plate presentation was nonexistent. was severely under staffed for 2 events going on at the same time just up the street from her restaurant. The young lady taking orders was under trained. Knew absolutely nothing about how the food was prepared. Although she was very pleasant. This little spot has a chance to knock it out of the park with a little bit of prep ahead of time. We need more good restaurants in this area. Not more restaurants with bad service and mediocre food.

What a perfect little spot to have breakfast or lunch. My wife and I decided we wanted to try something new so we took a short drive up to Newport from Deer Park. The moment we walked in we were greeted and seated. From there the hardest part was choosing what to eat for to the fact there were so many great choices. I got an espresso, raspberry croissant and a flatbread pizza. Everything was perfect. The ladies running the place we're nothing short of amazing the entire visit. 10/10 we will be back for sure.
