My experience at Mt. Madonna Stables for a horseback trail ride was absolutely amazing! From start to finish, it was an adventure filled with awe-inspiring scenery and well-trained horses. The staff was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and ensured everyone felt safe and comfortable throughout the ride.

The trail itself was breathtaking, taking us through lush forests and rolling hills that provided stunning vistas. The horses were gentle, well-cared for, and seemed to enjoy the ride just as much as we did! The guides were not only attentive but also shared interesting facts about the area and its history, making the journey even more enriching.

Whether you're a seasoned rider or a beginner, Mt. Madonna Stables caters to all levels, making it the perfect activity for families and friends. Wonderful experience!

It was the first time on horses for my kids and they absolutely had the best of time. Couldn't have asked for a better experience. Jessie, our instructor was very cool and wonderful with the kids. They now want to take weekly classes. The trail was so gorgeous, through the redwoods in scenic paths as the golden afternoon light shines through the trees. Thank you so much Jessie for the great experience, we will be back!

I took my son here for his very first trail ride. This was such a great experience for him! Our guide was so patient and helpful. She took the time to really reach out to him on his level to get the instructions. Besides the friendliness, the horses and scenery were beautiful. We'll definitely be back.

Good ride trail guide was great but the other stable person seemed unhappy. My son came along to take photos of his daughter riding and she told him a spot to go to to take pictures and when he went there he got out of car and walk down to where we going to be and saw her meet a ranger spoke with him and when he return to car he had a $45 ticket. She could have mentioned the parking also had an attitude with me. Other than that our guide was great we had her before. Just don't understand why the other person would seemingly go out of there way to sour our experience.

My wife and I have been riding at this stable on a regular basis for over 5 years. There really aren't many stables like this one in the entire state. They have direct access to an amazing set of trails in the coastal Redwoods, so the ride is both scenic and very shady. They also have exceptional horses, many of which Michelle has raised and trained herself. Michelle is a professional horse trainer with a great deal of experience. Her horses are a tremendous step up from the horses you typically find at a public stable.

BEWARE: if you’re planning on visiting the stables for a trail ride, make sure to receive a confirmation in writing or risk the owner claiming she never received your voicemail, messages or a call from you in their call log. Seriously, my teenage daughter thought that excuse was pathetic. Voicemails and text messages don’t go missing, especially when someone leaves more than one. How about three? I was told she would only accept cash, which in hindsight was a red flag to begin with. There are several horseback riding alternatives within 45 minutes.
