Shannon was extremely helpful and kind when taking my phone call. He guided us accurately to our launching point and was super flexible with drop off and pick up times. He politely answered all my questions and even suggested that we kayak at Kanawha Falls since the holiday would lead to heavy boat traffic at Summersville Lake. He did not steer us wrong! The views of the wraparound waterfalls was absolutely stunning! Thank you for the excellent accommodations!

Had an amazing, amazing day out on the Summersville Lake! Could not have done this without Mountain Surf Paddle Sports. We had an incredible guide, John, who was friendly, fun, knowledgeable, safe and showed up early and prepared for the start of our trip which was most appreciated! He made sure that my family had the trip that we wanted and helped us create one of the most enjoyable and memorable experiences of our visit to the New River Gorge area. If I ever return to the area again, I will absolutely call this company for another amazing tour. Thank you John and Mountain Surf Paddle Sports!

My son and I went SUP for the first time with John at Kanawha Falls and had an amazing time! My son was comfortable and I enjoyed myself, the scenery, and learning a new fun skill we’ll probably implement in the future on private trips! We’d been wondering about buying in for ourselves, and think we probably will. It was an awesome experienced and we will come back to do the Summerville tour, too!

We had an awesome time kayaking during offseason. Shannon not only helped us find a safe place to go (with kids and during an irregular time of year), he also was super flexible when it rained during our originally planned timeframe so that we could make the most of it. The kayaks were clean and in perfect working condition—we couldn’t have been happier with the experience.

This was a great trip! Well worth the $$$, we got a personalized tour of the falls and lake, and he customized the time for what we wanted to do. The conversation continued on the shore as he gave us great advice on where to eat, other sites, etc.

We had an amazing time SUP at the Kanawha falls. We had very little experience and our guide had us all up on boards with just a quick lesson. It was a wonderful way to experience the beautiful WV scenery while learning something new.
