A good beer has some bitterness but not too much, a good hop aroma but not overwhelming, and a mild amount of carbonation. Pizza was made with homemade dough. Very good. Toppings all fresh. Hummus, also homemade, is a must try. Staff was friendly and very accommodating. Will definitely be back.

This place is great for so many reasons! We were happy to find a place open on a Monday. They had gluten free pizza crust and were accommodating to other dietary challenges. The food was delicious. The service was nice and the beer was cold and delicious. I highly recommend this spot! We enjoyed playing Shoot the Moon!

We've been to all 3 Mountain State Breweries. I believe this is the original, and it's offerings do not meet the expectations set by the Deep Creek and Morgantown locations.
First, they offer counter ordering only. Since this is your first impression of the joint, the server should be friendly. She was not - I'll give her benefit that this may have been a busy time. However the location is small, so "busy" is relative. When asked if I could get a soda refill, the answer was a short "No, I don't give refills" Hmm
Overall, our pizza tasted great and we gobbled it down. There is only one size offered. My theory is they are pre-made and sent through the conveyor belt. NOT the wood fire crust the other locations offer. But the toppings were great and we ate it all. We re commend the Fire on the Mountain, and the Margherita was topped with fresh basil.
We will return here again, but now know what to expect!

The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was laid back. My boyfriend and I had their signature Fire on the Mountain pizza and we were both huge fans. Our favorite beer was the John Brown Chestnut Ale, which was unique and had a great flavor.

Stopped on a whim after hiking, the pizza was very good, and I wasn't planning on getting a drink but a fall drink on special sounded too good to pass up.

We popped in here after a full day of sightseeing. It was cold and they had a fire roaring. Small bar and the restaurant in the other room was packed. Parking is tight. I went with a Miners Daughter Oatmeal Stout. Coal black and perfect on a cold dreary day.It was quite tasty. They have liquor for cocktails. The pizza looked amazing

Nice spot for some beers and lunch. They also have some mix drinks available. They had 5 beers on tap and they were all pretty standard. Their seasonal one was not good at all, not sure if something happened to it. We have pizzas and they were filling and satisfying. Some room inside and outside to relax.
