2nd time for us. Because of mechanical issues, we got bumped out of our reserved room and into a smaller one. But still great place.

We stayed here overnight when we went hiking and to see Fall leaves at state parks in GA and AL. It was a delightful visit. We checked in and visited with Sarah and Sammie the dog, rested from our 3 hour hike, then went into Mentone for a dinner at Wildflower Cafe. We sat on the porch with a glass of wine and read and talked. Our room in the cabin in the woods was comfortable and well-appointed. The next morning HOT coffee was waiting at our door - I need one of those carafes. Sarah's famous French toast for breakfast was a treat and we enjoyed great conversation with the other guests. Then we hiked down to see DeSoto Falls before we left. We will be back when we can stay longer. A great B&B to go with a group and rent out the whole place. Thanks Sarah for the wonderful hospitality.

My husband surprised me with an anniversary trip to Mountain Laurel Inn B&B. Having never been to an official B&B I did not know what to expect. My expectations were definitely exceeded. Sarah and Sammie both greeted us as we arrived. We got the 'Hiking Package' and everything we needed to know, along with water bottles and hiking sticks were waiting for us in our room. We stayed in the Wildflower room, which was very quaint. We were brought hot coffee to our porch each morning and relaxed in rocking chairs while drinking it. The breakfasts were delicious! Varied options each day. Fresh fruit, French toast. eggs. biscuits, coffee and juice to name just some of the different items we had during our 4 days there. We will be going back as soon and as much as we can. Thanks to Sarah and Sammie for making this such a special trip!

My husband and I had a very nice experience at this quaint B&B. It was nestled in the midst of woods and was very peaceful. Our room, the Wildflower, was extremely clean and neat. Sarah, the innkeeper had thought of everything that we might need during our stay. She even had a black washcloth for makeup removal. It was nice not to have to worry about ruining one of the nice white cloths! We, also, enjoyed rocking on the front porch early one morning while relaxing. Sarah and her sweet dog, Sammie, were the perfect hosts!

Hubby and I decided to take a last minute overnight trip to celebrate our anniversary and stumbled across Mountain Laurel B & B. It's like a secret hideaway with a trail to DeSoto Falls. Even with the rain, we enjoyed the peace and quiet and our cozy, comfy--if dated--room. Sarah was a wonderful hostess and her French Toast and fruit breakfast was sinfully delicious. We will have to try Mentone out again...maybe in the fall.

We booked this bed and breakfast for our anniversary and while we did have an ok stay, it does need some things. It's is definitely overpriced for what it is. I do agree with another reviewer that the smell of the room is musty smelling, it's not intolerable. The rooms are small and would be great if they had a table and place to sit. The driveway is very bad with a huge rut right before you arrive at the main house, which was rough in my small car. We did however enjoy sitting on the porch in the mornings and evenings with our coffee. And I will say that I do not mention any of these complaints to the owner Sarah because she was so nice and such a good cook and host that I could not tell her. I'm not saying don't stay here because opinions vary. I do however feel that's it's way overpriced as I mentioned especially after going to see another B&B right down the road that was beautiful and was 45 dollars a night cheaper. Mountain Laurel is nice but it would be great if it was given some love and attention. It feels like to us that the place has just been let go for to long.

I loved our time at Mountain Laurel Inn B&B. The owner/hostess is very personable, warm and hospitable and took care of little details--like making dinner reservations for us--without hesitation. Breakfasts were so delicious, I definitely had to have her cookbook to take home! The grounds are beautiful and the local attractions make the B&B a great central location for resting. I can't wait to go back!
