We stayed for one night as our halfway point on a road trip to SC, and we liked it so much that we booked another night for our return trip! What really makes this place shine is the friendliness and hospitality of the hosts. Of course, it’s also great that they make a great breakfast to order, AND that you can choose the timing of breakfast (6:30, 7:30, or 8:30). Not every place offers an early breakfast, so we really appreciate that.

For starters you cannot go wrong with a business, or any place when you have personalities like Scott and Lisa running it! As I arrived from my section hike trip Lisa happily directed me to the side door, in which I set my belongings down as I came inside to preserve the beauty of the interior from me being a hiker ( aka clumsy ) and they provided me with a cold glass of lemonade. Their hospitality the entire way through was just out of this world, and their smiles and enthusiasm for taking care of people radiated the whole way through. Overall this place is a must stop in front royal passing through or hiking, they are the best!

I stayed one night while passing through on the Appalachian Trail. I could not have had a nicer experience. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The property is beautiful. The breakfast was outstanding. I hope to return for a longer visit.

We loved staying at Mountain Home for a trip to Shenandoah NP! We missed one night because of some car trouble and Scott and Lisa were very understanding and gracious about it! The house is beautiful and has interesting history, it’s in a really nice location, and our room was comfortable and breakfast was great - I have zero complaints, except that I wish we could have stayed longer!

Lisa and Scott bent over backwards to please from the homemade jam, and cider to the transport to and from the bus stop and trailhead. Their home is an historical marvel with the Blue Ridge Mountains in their backyard. It was a wonderful experience that was to short.

Nice B&B with great service located next to the App Trail. We stayed in the Cabin and were able to hike a portion of the AT w/out having to deal with driving and finding a parking spot. Lisa and Scott were great and served an excellent breakfast.

A beautiful house and well positioned for hikers walking though the Appalachian Trail. the owners Lisa and Scott are just super!! They made me feel like home.
