We had a great time at Lake Lurleen. Heavy wooded lots with a good amount of space between sites. We are in a 35ft TT. We were not on a water front lot. Bath houses clean. Staff very nice. Lake has great fishing. Only about 20 min from Tuscaloosa. If they had cable and more sewer hook-ups they would have gotten 5 Stars.

This a pretty place to stay with a serene lake to look at. State park near Tuscaloosa. Clean area with very nice folks in charge. Lots of trees so great in summer to reduce heat. Sites are average but normal for a state park. Only issue was basically no cell service and no satellite service for TV due to trees.

We went in November of 2015. There was hardly anyone there. The weather was a cool 65. The lake was beautiful. A light fog at night. We made a nice fire, feed the ducks and stayed an extra 5 days other than the 2 we had originally planned on because the setting was so perfect. You really need to see this place.

First time to this park but it won't be the last. Fall color was at its peak and the lake crystal clear in the early morning cold. Convenient location to Bryant-Denny Stadium where we cheered on Roll Tide Alabama Football. Campground employees were veyry friendly and helpful. Campsites are all with views of the lake and a variety - full hook-ups or primitive and everything in between.

The natural scenery was beautiful but they must allow people to live there year round or else we would have paid more to go somewhere else. I was appalled when a woman in her 50's or 60's with long hair and wearing nothing more than underwear it looked like approached my husband to ask him to do something for her while our boys were looking on. I was furious that a woman could just approach family men more than half naked and it was clear she was living there from the poor condition of her camper and junk around it. Another tenant told us to watch our stuff because she was a convicted thief . Tasteless

I live by this place and and I have smelt weed and people letting kids throw rocks and glass bottles at and over my fence and a pit bull dog that has came in my yard a few time and barks at my family every time we are outside like it’s going to attack us of it wasn’t on a chain. I’m not going to put up with it anymore and the next time I have a complaint I’ll call the sheriff.

If you need to be babysat, then by all means stay here…I would never recommend to anyone!! People up in everyone’s business, & telling it to everyone. Certain ones call owner everyday & tell him what everyone said & did. Most drama I’ve had any place!!

Those with disabilities do not need to think about camping here unfriendly harassed by Park Rangers for being disabled the park ranger thinks he is above the law. The people of the park stand behind him no matter what he says. no rating
