Mossman's serves the best pancakes and french toast in town. Hands down!!. My only complaint is there is a lady who is always so upset when she serves you. A few times we ate here, she has said the same comments, "it's just me here, so you'll have to wait." Which we don't mind, I just don't understand why she has to tell us this every time we show up. It's rude. The takeout is also just as delish!

Ordered online but... omg very bad at this location. Buena Vista location is thousand times better.. not only newer but better tasting food, especially the pancakes.. The food at this location was horrible, pancakes were burnt and our home potatoes were hard and under cooked. The rest of the food was flavorless.. I will not be eating at this location ever again and I suggest you not to either. If I could give negative stars I would.

We got the fish and chips. i chose a salad over the fries, which is great for me. The fish was perfectly cooked, and the salad was fresh. Thank you mossmans our waitress was nice too.

Mossman’s Coffee Shop in Bakersfield is a nostalgic gem, famous for its classic fish and chips. I decided to visit alone before bringing my family, hoping to recapture the charm from years ago. Thankfully, Mossman’s delivered.

The fish was golden and crispy, fried to perfection with a satisfying crunch that gave way to tender, flaky white fish. The fries were equally impressive, perfectly seasoned and crisp on the outside while soft on the inside. The soft dinner roll, warm and buttery, was the perfect complement to the meal. It all tasted just like I remembered.

The atmosphere of Mossman’s remains warm and inviting, with a small, hometown feel. The bar area adds to the charm, offering a relaxed space where locals chat and unwind. It’s the kind of place where you feel at home the moment you walk in. The staff was friendly and attentive, contributing to the comfortable, laid-back vibe. Mossman’s hasn’t lost its touch—it’s still the perfect spot for a casual, satisfying meal, with the added bonus of Bakersfield history in every bite.

We had them cater the county Fair and every single dish was prepared amazing. The variety and portions were perfect and all the band cast and crew enjoyed it for 2 weeks straight. Miranda and Daniel were amazing staff and made our requests happen with a smile. I'm definitely recommending this restaurant to anyone in Bakersfield or for catering. It's the kinda meal we look forward to having after a long hard day at the concerts. Thank you

Now I know why they have lasted so long. Got the fish and chicken and OMG it was good. Not greasy at all. Had great flavor. Fully recommended.

Bakersfield staple for coffee shop / greasy spoon type food .
known for it's fish and chips and they do it right. fish is always cooked perfect with fries and Cole slaw. chicken fried chicken with cream country gravy and hash browns is good as is the french dip. probably the best pancakes in town.

Always a great place to grab a bite! Our little got fussy so my husband took him outside and the waitress was so sweet and accommodating. She took his refills and food out to him.
